So the Shark when not on sale is the more expensive option! Iv had a Dyson V6 fluffy that died on me last night and it was rubbish for carpet, I do have a corded Shark which is brill but if I am going to spend £350-£400 id rather have ONE hoover!!

AIBU to ask what everyone recommends between the 2 😁

Neither are Hoovers. They're vacuum cleaners :pedantic:

Curious2468 · 16/07/2019 09:56

I love the shark! It’s so ridiculously light, picks up well, quiet enough my autistic kids don’t moan and has decent battery life

GiBlues · 16/07/2019 09:59

The shark, every time for me

HJWT · 16/07/2019 10:01

@Spidey66 ah yes! But my DM always shouted "HOOVER UP" 🤣

Shark is great. My mum has the Dyson and now wants a shark

iamme21 · 16/07/2019 10:06

Shark!

NCforthis2019 · 16/07/2019 10:08

Shark. I have both and a Miele. Shark wins always.

Lolapusht · 16/07/2019 12:10

Good discounts on Sharks for Amazon Prime Day....

PizzaTaste · 16/07/2019 12:14

I have both.

I vacuumed a rug with the Dyson. Then used my Shark. Which picked up ton more dirt.

I’m keeping both because I’ve already gone to the expense of buying both but the Shark is much better in a side by side comparison.

maddening · 16/07/2019 12:16

I got the shark for around £250 including the second battery - it rocks.

MagicKingdomDizzy · 16/07/2019 12:55

The Shark. I love mine. Get a second battery though.

chocolatebumby · 16/07/2019 12:57

@Spidey66

At the risk of derailing the thread - 'hoover' is now considered to be a verb - 'Hoover' is a noun.

They are both in the dictionary.

Sad

Imanamechangeninja · 16/07/2019 14:05

I don’t have either of those models but I do have several different Shark appliances and they are all excellent.

LadyRannaldini · 16/07/2019 14:07

All these cordless things, once you strart having to replace the batteries they'll not seem such a good idea. We found that the cost of a battery for a cordless strimmer was more than we'd paid for the thing originally!

Sad

Being correct is always considered 'sad' by a certain type of person. Nothing wrong with being pedantic, we would have fewer 'of' 'their' errors. If that's considered to be sad then boohoo, I'm sad.

homeishere · 16/07/2019 14:13

Shark. Dyson is a Brexit supporting, Singapore fleeing, fucking hypocrite. Don’t give him your money.

CareBear50 · 16/07/2019 14:19

I have a Dyson cordless. I would never buy one again

I bought a shark corded three months ago. I still get excited when I use it!!!! Sad, but true! Cost 150 quid from Argos.

chocolatebumby · 16/07/2019 14:54

@LadyRannaldini

You'd also be wrong.

As 'hoover' is now a verb as well as a noun it is perfectly acceptable to call a Dyson a 'hoover' as it describes what it does rather than the brand name.

Now worrying I will be called sad too.

19lottie82 · 16/07/2019 14:55

I have a cordless Dyson and it’s crap.

NCforthis2019 · 16/07/2019 14:58

Keep Singapore out of this homeishere 🙄 nothing to do which is a better appliance.

Shark is IMO better.

6triesbuttingout · 16/07/2019 15:02

I’ve got dyson v10 and certainly wouldn’t recommend it

DareDevil223 · 16/07/2019 15:07

I love my Shark, it's amazing, picks up all the cat hair and works well on carpet and hard floor Smile

HJWT · 16/07/2019 15:09

Thanks everyone will get the Shark 😁
