To think chocolate ice cream with apple crumble is an utter abomination?

DH has just had a bowl of apple and raspberry crumble ... with chocolate ice cream.

Vanilla ice cream, double cream and custard were also available, but he went back for the chocolate. Not just chocolate but chocolate chip with chocolate sauce, which somehow makes it so much worse. AIBU?

I've not got over the sight of someone I thought better of ordering scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon and baked beans. Wrong, wrong, utterly wrong.

It sounds pretty good to me. I hate double cream and custard and vanilla is boring.

Chocolate and raspberry go great together though (especially dark chocolate) so maybe that was his thinking?
To be honest, I'd be more worried about mixing the raspberries with apple.

Raspberries, orange, lemon, cherries, pears, bananas, strawberries - yes, they go with chocolate. Apples don't.

YABU! I've had it many times (well just apple crumble no raspberries) it's delicious. I hate cream, and vanilla is my least favourite ice cream flavour so I see no problem with it

Personally I think the person that put raspberries in a crumble should be pushed off a cliff for crimes against crumble making.....

Chocolate fudge ice cream and crumble topping = yes
Chocolate and raspberry = yep

Raspberries work beautifully with apple in a crumble. Ruining it with Chocolate ice cream is shocking.

Confession: twas I that put the raspberries in the crumble. They came from the garden and once I'd picked the insects out of them they were really only good to chuck in crumble or jam, and there wasn't enough for jam.

The only way to eat apple pie or apple crumble is with custard .

I can't stand it when you go to a restaurant and they serve apple pie with only cream or ice cream. I want piping hot custard damn it!
