So. DH and I are moving house, moving abroad in fact. Lots to do. We have 2 dc and alongside working we have to completely empty both living spaces and lives. The cupboards are bare. DC have a strict rotation of 6 outfits. My phone is out of credit and I am not renewing it. So. I ask dh if he can text the cleaner we've booked to come a bit later and he does so by ... Picking up my phone and sending the same message. From the same phone. What? Why? I'm cross.

Sorry - it's the same phone that is out of credit and that wanker just assumes I don't know how to use it? This annoyed me.

Presumably he didn’t realise your phone was out of credit

familycourtq · 03/07/2019 17:36

YABU

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 03/07/2019 17:37

Sounds mildly annoying but hardly worth talking down or flaming about.

familycourtq · 03/07/2019 17:37

and that wanker just assumes I don't know how to use it?
and you know this how?

jellycatspyjamas · 03/07/2019 17:37

I think you’re unreasonable calling your DH a wanker. Did you tell him you were out of credit which is why you weren’t using your phone?

AnneLovesGilbert · 03/07/2019 17:38

Chill your beans OP. This isn’t worth it.

EscapeTheCastle · 03/07/2019 17:39

I think you need to put a tenner on that phone.

MuddyMoose · 03/07/2019 17:39

Maybe he thought you needed him to text because you were busy with something else & hadn't realised your phone was out of credit.

Yep. YABU.

Pinkmalinky · 03/07/2019 17:40

You just sound frazzled and in need of a G&T or five.

Gth1234 · 03/07/2019 17:40

it's just time to sit down with a glass of something, and a bar of chocolate. No wonder you are frazzled. Your DH wouldn't have known your phone was out of credit. He probably thought you were busy, so you were asking could he do it for you.

Faceicle · 03/07/2019 17:43

Bless you. He knows. He knows I haven't got phone credit because we're leaving.

My dh does similar, drives me mad but it’s usually my fault for not making it crystal clear

Though to be fair to me he quite often doesn’t listen

But i agree with other posters, sit down with a drink and try and regroup Smile

jellycatspyjamas · 03/07/2019 17:44

So if you don’t gave credit how could he send a text?

wheelywheelynice · 03/07/2019 17:45

Mildly annoying but not really worthy of posting on here. Pretty horrible to refer to your husband as a wanker. What does that say about you and the relationship...

What a waste of mental energy.

Confused
WorraLiberty · 03/07/2019 17:52

Is the move making you overly dramatic, or are you normally like this?

Is your DH not allowed to be stressed and make a silly mistake without being called a 'wanker'?

sacope · 03/07/2019 17:55

Why would he assume you don't know how to use your phone? Is this some new phone you have just bought? No; it's can't be, because you are out of credit so you have clearly used it before.

Perhaps he like, you know, forgot.

WorraLiberty · 03/07/2019 17:55

So if you don’t gave credit how could he send a text?

From his own phone I expect but he made a small mistake and forgot the OP doesn't have credit.

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 03/07/2019 17:58

If it makes you feel any better OP I am moving back to the UK, have full cupboards, floordrobes in every bloody room and have lost my phone entirely Grin

Faceicle · 03/07/2019 17:59

What is the mistake that you perceive? Because for me it's quite simple. I have no phone credit - which he knows. I tell him that I can't text. I ask him to do so. He picks up my phone. Not his phone with the actual credit.

OP posts:
adaline · 03/07/2019 17:59

So he made a mistake? What's the big deal?

Wildorchidz · 03/07/2019 18:01

Life’s too short for the drama
