Am with Santander. They want all customers to download a banking app and use that in future. Their app is not compatible with a desktop pc.

I don’t want to access my bank accounts by phone.my phone is ancient and I have a pc.

Can anyone recommend a bank? I need to access my accounts via computer, not app.

Honestly.

snid - here’s the link. www.santander.co.uk/personal/support/ways-to-bank/changes-to-how-you-log-on-to-online-banking

I ask you.

I read the link earlier in the thread.

I don't read it as meaning that they are going to do away with online banking via their website, more to use your phone and possibly the app as an additional layer of security. All banks are going down this type of route, so closing your account and flouncing won't get you away from it as increased security is needed everywhere.

I'm not sure why you are so averse to providing your bank with your mobile number. Nationwide have had mine for as long as I can remember. No problems.

Not sure

@tenlittlecygnets :) Thankyou :)

I think the trickiest your banking will get is, they text you a number which you then type into whatever way you're accessing your account

I had an email from Barclays and they are doing the same for Barclaycard, they all will be doing this. I had to explain all this to DH who shops online very rarely and has to sort out his Barclaycard in readiness, as he doesn't have the app and they don't have his mobile no. just our landline no.
