To complain about housing officer?

sunshineonacloudy · 22/06/2019 15:18

I've lived in my house for 6 years and never had any problem with previous housing officers.
Except this one who started last year.
My house is immaculate.
I have 2 kids and my youngest is 9 months.
I work full time and a few months ago split with partner.
Anyway every few weeks she is pushing cards through "clean rubbish from garden"
"Tidy garden"
I live on a corner house so all the rubbish blows in.
I try and keep on top of it and every other day I'm picking bits up that's blown in.
Today I had a formal letter from her saying I was in breach of my tenancy because my garden has weeds.
I mean ..that's it weeds.
A few weeds (il try and upload a pic)
I'm struggling to keep up with everything on my plate and this is adding to it.
None of the neighbours like her ,she's constantly in people's gardens.
Would you complain ?

Damned right I would complain.

ScreamingValenta · 22/06/2019 15:22

Tell her they're not weeds, they're plants you're cultivating to enrich the environment.

Moondancer73 · 22/06/2019 15:22

Wow, she sounds bonkers. I'd definitely complain. Send a photo of the garden too - good job she can't see my garden at the mo

TheQueef · 22/06/2019 15:22

I would find an area where she is slack (anti social behaviour, traffic etc) and next time she doorsteps you politely ask can she direct efforts to those.
Gardens are the easy target.

Complain, twitter and facebook tends to get results

Threesoups · 22/06/2019 15:25

She sounds underemployed.

gamerchick · 22/06/2019 15:25

Ask all your neighbours to get in on your complaint as well. A mass complaint will have more impact and stop her targeting you afterwards.

MediocreOmens · 22/06/2019 15:25

@sunshineonacloudy - have you posted about this before? I remember a thread with the exact same issue down to the cards being posted through the door saying to clean up rubbish.

sunshineonacloudy · 22/06/2019 15:26

She did exactly the same last summer.
You see her marching around every day, sour face.
I try not to be rude about people but she's obnoxious.

sunshineonacloudy · 22/06/2019 15:26

@MediocreOmens yes ..it was last summer
She did exactly the same thing

sunshineonacloudy · 22/06/2019 15:27

I've taken pics on my phone again.
I'm going to pull up whatever weeds I can and try my best to keep on top of it.
I honestly don't think it's even bad.

TheQueef · 22/06/2019 15:30

My pal lives beside a council property and the neighbours get the cards because of litter.
The neighbour in the council property is really good and maintains their garden but the ice cream van stops outside their house so the litter is refreshed twice a day.
It's only the neighbour who gets a card because the other houses are private.
Despite it not being her litter.

BigRedLondonBus · 22/06/2019 15:35

I’ve also definitely read this before

MediocreOmens · 22/06/2019 15:36

Did you complain last summer?

Coldandfrosty · 22/06/2019 15:38

I remember this too. Exact same.

sunshineonacloudy · 22/06/2019 15:41

I didn't complain no.
I thought if I complained she would have kept going with the threatening letters etc.
She eased off during the winter.

OP posts:
sunshineonacloudy · 22/06/2019 15:41

I've said I posted about her last year too.
She eased off during winter but normal service has resumed.

BigRedLondonBus · 22/06/2019 15:48

So complain then? I doubt they will do much tbh as your word against hers. Unless your neighbours are willing to complain as well? Otherwise just make sure your garden is clean.

MediocreOmens · 22/06/2019 15:50

I'm not sure what other advice anyone can give you but to complain to her superiors.

donajimena · 22/06/2019 15:50

She says she posted before Confused!
I feel your pain. I'm private renting and usually keep my garden immaculate. Because I have a gardener.
Unfortunately with the excessive rain my weeds took on a life of their own. Triffids. My gardener had to cancel every time he arranged to come. I then had a letter from the agency saying there were concerns about my garden. Fine, except everyone elses was exactly the same. I live in an area where we all keep our gardens nice normally. I felt a bit pissed off because I know exactly who told the landlord and wondered if this woman had knocked on the owned properties to complain. I'll call her Cathy this woman. Cathy if you are reading: you think you are popular but rumour has it that you befriend the elderly in the hope of being left some money!

BigRedLondonBus · 22/06/2019 15:52

But why keep posting the same thing but not bothering to complain. The advice is going to be the same.

DishingOutDone · 22/06/2019 16:10

Is there meant to be photos?

Cherrysoup · 22/06/2019 16:19

Is a condition of your tenancy to clear litter/remove weeds? If so, how often? I’d want to contact her boss and tell them that you’re feeling harassed by her.
