And I’m in bed, been here since 9:30, they cat is out, the puppy’s in her pen, DS is snoring and DH was asleep as his head hit the pillow beside me. Rock and roll.
This is not how the 30 year old me planned on being when 38.
Tell me I’m not alone? Aibu to be in bed by 10pm?

YANBU. Friday night is for rest and recovery from the week ahead. Saturday night is for the old you living your best life in fabulous shoes.

I'm joking. Saturday night is also for resting. Life as an adult for me is spent primarily trying to orchestrate naps and avoid emptying large appliances of clothes/crockery.

Loulabelle0 · 21/06/2019 22:10

26 year old me is tucked up ready for my 5.45 alarm for work... DH is also fast asleep having been in a beer garden all afternoon Hmm rock and roll!

devilinme · 21/06/2019 22:10

You are not alone, been in bed since 8.45, DH fell asleep at 9.15 whilst I was watching an episode of Black Mirror.

I love going to bed early

GreenTulips · 21/06/2019 22:11

I’m here! But at 10:11 bit of a late one

WhiteLightTrainWreck · 21/06/2019 22:12

28 year old me is sat on the sofa thinking is 10 past 10 too early for bed considering I've been home all day napping on and off 😳

Pipandmum · 21/06/2019 22:13

I’m 57 and watching The Sopranos. My 15 year old is in Spain with his girlfriend, my 14 year old has gone to bed. I’m a widow but if hubby was still alive I bet we’d be contemplating opening a second bottle or thinking bed instead. At your age I was childfree and unmarried. I think it’s not your age but your family stage. You have a kid so that’s it for now!

Fruitbatdancer · 21/06/2019 22:13

Ha, do you think mumsnet is just basically women in their 30’s ish who are in bed early but not quite ready for sleep?!
Just looked on FB and saw a few friends out on town, I’m not even jealous, I just know how sore their feet will be Grin

I've been in bed since 9pm. Sick DP snoring on one side of me and DD 8 months on the other. We all needed an early night!

WhiskersPete · 21/06/2019 22:15

I'm 34 BTW!

Fruitbatdancer · 21/06/2019 22:16

@Pipandmum is the sopranos worth a watch?
And I think maybe your right, DS is 5 but in my head it’s still best we sleep/ rest when he does as it’s so bloody exhausting working full time and school and homework and life!

🙋🏼‍♀️ Woman in my 30s sitting in bed pretending to read whilst mumsnetting. To be fair I’ve just watched back to back episodes of Years and Years so I can’t really concentrate on anything.

Pascha · 21/06/2019 22:18

Yanbu at all. I'm sitting in jammies watching Mock the Week (well, mostly ignoring it) while consuming Galaxy and a can of Pimms. The only reason I'm not upstairs in bed is that ds1 only fell asleep half an hour ago and I need some form of evening time to myself before crashing.

halfmoonbay · 21/06/2019 22:20

I'm in bed (late 40s) just watched Love Island, let the dog out and got into bed - DH is at home, I'm away on my own, I love early nights!

meow1989 · 21/06/2019 22:23

I am lying on a makeshift bed on ds(1 today!) Floor, not because he is unsettled but because I just wanted to be near him... must get over this before he is old enough to complain about it!

sparklefarts · 21/06/2019 22:23

Ha, do you think mumsnet is just basically women in their 30’s ish who are in* bed early but not quite ready for sleep?!*

Hmmm looks at self

Yes

snackarella · 21/06/2019 22:24

I'm in bed having napped from 6-8, got a curry and no back in bed!

Love it!

MissClareRemembers · 21/06/2019 22:24

OP if I could never leave the house again I’d be more than happy! I just cannot be faffed with anything remotely sociable and especially on a Friday night!

DS has a club till 9.30 on Fridays so it’s all about waiting for the right time to collect him and trying not to get too drunk in the meantime!

Stravapalava · 21/06/2019 22:24

I'm in my 30s and my DH is out. Had the neighbour not chapped the door with gin, I'd be in bed right now!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 21/06/2019 22:25

I refuse to have a TV in our bedroom so I'm on the couch re-binging 30 Rock and having just opened the second bottle of wine. Only issue is my itchy feet.

33goingon64 · 21/06/2019 22:26

We're in bed by 10 most nights (early 40s). DH gets up stupid early for work and his body clock is just set now. I go too otherwise I get frosty remarks. I'm only still up tonight because I'm wallowing in guilt having dropped DS off at cub camp with no sleeping bag...

dudsville · 21/06/2019 22:27

I've rocked tonight. OH is out. I had whiskey while playing spotify and cleaning house so that I don't have to do it over the weekend. I finished with a hot bath, scrub, lotion and fresh pjs. Mmm I rock.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 21/06/2019 22:31

Oh, while the cleaning sounds hellish, dudsville, the thought of a clean house is lovely.

33, we're you able to drop a sleeping bag later? We did a Brownie camp recently and had a couple of spares just in case so hopefully your leaders did too.

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 21/06/2019 22:33

I wish I was in bed.

I'm sober and up past my bedtime because I've got to collect ds1 from his prom at 11:30.

Can't even put my pajamas on!

Fruitbatdancer · 21/06/2019 22:36

@doyouthinktheysaurus dare you to collect him in your pj’s!!

I'm watching Good Omens with a glass of wine. DH is out, but the kids are glisteningly clean (friend who came to our door even marvelled at their cleanliness when they presented themselves for kisses) and the dishwasher is on, so I'm living the LIFE here.
