And I’m in bed, been here since 9:30, they cat is out, the puppy’s in her pen, DS is snoring and DH was asleep as his head hit the pillow beside me. Rock and roll.
This is not how the 30 year old me planned on being when 38.
Tell me I’m not alone? Aibu to be in bed by 10pm?

I’m on a train just on my way back from the theatre having seen Matilda. My 7 year old is asleep but i’ll let her off that one. I’m out to a gig tomorrow night too.... and off to Berlin next weekend. I’m 48 incidentally...... you only pass through this way once.

1wokeuplikethis · 21/06/2019 22:42

Right. Thank you everyone. I’m off to bed now, jealous of you all.

33 and a half.

freshasthebrightbluesky · 21/06/2019 22:43

Yanbu. Nothing wrong with being well rested and comfortable. Going out on the town is overrated imo. Days and nights off work were designed going to bed, getting settled and chilling out!

Nearly 40 year old here. I'm not in be but I am on the settee in my PJs making a tiny hat for a smoothie bottle. I have personalised one of the suggested designs - a yellow one with 3 red lovehearts and a bobble on the top. Dh, early 40s, is laying opposite me and is catching flies.

Nearly 35. I had a long relaxing bath this evening and I'm having a hot drink whilst DP plays videos games. Will shortly be crawling into bed . I'm usually in bed around 10 every single night. We have a toddler and he's always up early! I can't wait for him to appreciate lie ins

TakeMeToKernow · 21/06/2019 22:48

32 here. Sulking because I’m not in bed.

Like doyouthinktheysaurus I’m sitting up, wishing for my pyjamas, to give a lift.

However, I’m waiting for a text from the DP who went out for “work lunch” and I’ve still heard nothing from...

Gracie300 · 21/06/2019 22:50

I’ve just turned 30 and the only thing stopping me from being in bed is the Prosecco and brownies my husband brought me home.

ooohhhhcrap · 21/06/2019 22:52

Put my pjs on at about 6pm after a manic week and feeling totally exhausted.
Dh just finished a week of long hours so we came for a lie down at 7ish and to watch some Netflix.
Dh been out for the count since

I've sorted aftershock for the kids let dogs out and out a load of washing in tumble dryer. Now back in bed contemplating if I want toast Grin

I'm 39

happycactus · 21/06/2019 22:53

Early 30s, in bed with clean sheets Smile

supercee · 21/06/2019 22:55

37 and in bed after a huge argument with my flatmate which ended up in him storming out earlier and hopefully he'll be leaving next weekConfused Does nothing for my chronic anxiety. To be honest I've been thinking for a bit now that I want to go back to living on my own so need to concentrate on that, getting my personal space back.

Loving everyone else being tucked up early too on a Friday night.

22Giraffes · 21/06/2019 22:57

Early 30's, currently in bed watching tv but contemplating getting up to make a brew then getting straight back in. LOVE an early night and a daytime nap, I feel sorry for people out on the town ConfusedGrin

InFiveMins · 21/06/2019 22:58

YANBU. Nothing better than an early night tucked up in a comfy bed nice and cosy. I would choose that over a night on the town any night of the week!

Meltedicicle · 21/06/2019 23:02

YANBU 38 here, only still on the sofa and not in bed because the cat is on me. Went to see the Spice Girls a couple of weeks ago and took 3 days to recover!

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 21/06/2019 23:04

10pm is a late night for me! I'm in bed around 8pm once all the children are in bed. I read until 10 ish but I'm knackered so bed it is. I'm single though so no one to moan that I'm boring or whatever. It's fab Smile

PlatypusPie · 21/06/2019 23:06

Ha - 60 and just back from a piano bar, nice summer rosé and some snacks. Lots of years of early nights with little DDs tucked up, then years of waiting for DDs to come in/ needing lifts. Your time will come again.

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 21/06/2019 23:08

33 SAHM in bed most nights before half 10 toddler allowing. DH in bed as working odd hours. Oldest DC in bed snoring away. Knackered by Friday due to being up early for school. We are also SO rock'n'roll 😬☺

TakeMeToKernow · 21/06/2019 23:24

Update: the DP has just text. Off now. It’s a 35 minute drive each way. He’ll owe me for this

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 21/06/2019 23:42

Meltedicicle, I'm still not over P!nk on Tuesday Wink

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 21/06/2019 23:57

Even in my younger days, I wasn't one for being out on the town. And these days there are far too many dickheads about as evidenced by being on hold to greater Manchester police for 1.5 hours to report something non-urgent but needed attention. Offenders have now buggered off (for good I hope) and therefore I just gave up. GMP are useless in my experience anyway. Police cuts aplenty but it would be nice if the officers they had knew what they were doing! Grrr. Anyway...
Early 40s here and I've always preferred a good book to being out getting pissed although I gave it a good go in my mid teens. Sometimes I might break routine and crack open a beer or a bottle of wine and watch a film. But I can't honestly remember the last time I did that. I bought a bottle of wine in February I think, or maybe January. It's still in the fridge. As is s bottle of gin from 2 Christmases ago. I know how to party me!
But seriously, there's too much emphasis on going out and having fun getting so pissed you can't remember anything and waking up feeling like death and struggling to look after the kids and spending tons of money on alcohol and food and taxis. Then there's the high heels and outfits required. Fuck that. Give me my PJs and a crime drama or a good book any day. Costs nothing, you don't consume hundreds of empty calories (unless you break into the popcorn/biscuit stash), your liver is safe, you don't need a babysitter or to shave anywhere, no stupid shoes, no risk of vomiting at 3am when you crawl in, no drunken carb scoffing (chip barm anyone?), no lecherous lotharios, no waiting for a taxi, no risk of falling into the Manchester canal, no hangover and depending on the book you might learn a thing or two. I like my "boring" life Smile

Meltedicicle · 22/06/2019 14:05

Bet Pink was amazing!
