What do you do when your DH is out for the evening?

I don't know why.

But nights when DH is out I always bring myself straight to bed.

Watch TV, drunk tea, and make sure I have a cat to keep me company.

I don't know why but I don't like sitting in the lounge by myself. Even like tonight when he was out early I'm in bed soon as DC asleep with the TV on.

I don't have a TV in the bedroom, or I would too! Usually sit in the living room with the laptop and find something I know he would not want to watch to put on the TV in the background.

BunnyJumps · 06/06/2019 21:23

Have friends over for dinner
Watch a film or box set
Mumsnet

thenightsky · 06/06/2019 21:24

Mine's away with work until tomorrow. I'm currently alone, watching tv and mumsnetting on the laptop. I may have a gin and tonic.

AphidEater · 06/06/2019 21:27

I write my book. It’s too hard to motivate myself when my husband is around because I just chat to him or we watch something we both like

hazandduck · 06/06/2019 21:29

DH is a telly addict so I often enjoy listening to music when he’s out instead and read. Also go to bed early and...have some ‘alone’ time iyswim 😬 sorry to lower the tone!

itsboiledeggsagain · 06/06/2019 21:29

Same op.
Except I don't have a telly up there so I normally read

CherryPavlova · 06/06/2019 21:31

Mine is away two or three nights a week.

Tonight I practiced making icing roses and freesia with my youngest daughter after we’d taken the dog to the beach.
Sometimes I go to friends and sometimes they come here.
I walk the dog, speak to the children, prepare for the next day, play the piano, Mumsnet, do tapestry, read, have a hot tub, wayervthe garden etc.

Ithinkmycatisevil · 06/06/2019 21:31

Have friends over, watch movies with the kids, go to the beach for the evening in summer, or just generally enjoy the peace without the grumpy man about.

eurochick · 06/06/2019 21:31

Watch what I want on the tv
Eat snacks in the most uncouth way that I would never do with someone else present!

EnglishRose13 · 06/06/2019 21:33

I'm the same.

My husband is in the study while I'm watching Love Island an educational show on the mating habits of the homosapien so we aren't even in the same room but if he wasn't home I feel more settle in bed than in the living room.

Millie2018 · 06/06/2019 21:42

Mine was out with work last night. I got in my bd within about 5 mins of the children going to bed. Warm mug of milk and love island catch up. Oh and I’m in my 30s!

MaryPopppins · 06/06/2019 21:45

Hahah I'm also watching Love Island a highly educational show.

On my second tea.

I do have some laundry to sort. Will drag myself out of bed to do that in a bit.

This reminds me of the old joke about the woman who wondered where her husband went to in the evenings, then one night she came home early and there he was.

moonpiggle · 06/06/2019 21:46

@MaryPoppins oh wow..not just me then!

Iggly · 06/06/2019 21:47

Eat ice cream straight from the tub for dinner

Read bed

“alone” time Wink

Moneybegreen · 06/06/2019 21:47

DP is out tomorrow night! 🙌

I'm going to order a huge filthy Chinese, put my comfiest elasticated pyjamas on, and drink a bottle of prosecco in front of some utter trash on Netflix.

Absolutely love him to pieces but I fucking love a night to myself sometimes.

MatchSetPoint · 06/06/2019 21:52

My husbands gone away with work to a fancy awards thing today, so I’m sat in bed mumsnetting with a bottle of water, and I’m going treat myself to an early night! Rock and roll!

DonnaDarko · 06/06/2019 21:54

Read
Play The Sims 4
Colouring in 😳

I'm such a kid lol

ChristinaMarlowe · 06/06/2019 21:57

DH is a chef so out 5 nights a week, I often do the same as the OP and go and watch TV in bed as currently 34 wks pregnant and can't be bothered with much, can also hear DD1 easier if I'm upstairs. Prior to being up the duff I'd often watch TV on the exercise bike in the lounge or turn the TV up load and do the housework while watching/listening

TaighNamGastaOrt · 06/06/2019 21:58

Enjoy the peace!
Because as soon as he's home he's interrupting my chilled evening mumsnetting by showing me cat videos on facebook.
Love him but its lovely to have some peace! Me and DDog have sofa sunggles and put our feet up!

IHeartArya · 06/06/2019 21:58

Watch what I want on tv. Play with the dog. Drink wine, eat crisps, nuts & chocolate. He’s been away 3 nights this week - bliss. Yes I love him but I’m not glued to him. I love my alone time.

Stravapalava · 06/06/2019 21:59

I love it, haha! I eat seafood and ice cream and go on the internet all evening guilt free. Sometimes I even watch Say Yes to the Dress back to back all evening!

Oysterbabe · 06/06/2019 22:00

I cook food he hates (mushrooms and prawns) and watch TV he hates.

mabelmylove · 06/06/2019 22:02

Masturbate

RomanyQueen · 06/06/2019 22:04

The same as when he's here, because we spend so much bloody time together. Grin
