To just leave it there?

I leave for work very early most mornings around 5.30 so DH and DC are still in bed.
This morning there was a bee crawling around the kitchen floor, AIBU to have just put a mug over it, write "bee" with an arrow on a piece of paper and then leave the house?

(Kitchen had a baby gate so the kids won't find it first btw)

Yes, YABU! Put the poor thing outside! Will take seconds!

SherlockSays · 03/06/2019 06:24

How is it going to breathe?
Would have taken 2 seconds to get it on the piece of paper and put it on a flower or greenery outside.. it's walking around the floor because it's weak.

It's probably dead now.

Poochnewbie · 03/06/2019 06:24

Did it not take longer to write the note than it would to have put it outside?

Slicedpineapple · 03/06/2019 06:25

Yes YABU, it will probably die.

MaryMuir · 03/06/2019 06:27

That seems a cruel way for it to die - hopefully your husband sees it before then

Cliffdonville · 03/06/2019 06:28

I spent 10 minutes rescuing a bee last week, found it a flower and it was amazing to see it drinking nectar close up. It recovered pretty quickly and flew off. This is what you should have done, they are precious!

ChocChocButtons · 03/06/2019 06:29

You had time to write this but not put the poor thing outside?

Sexnotgender · 03/06/2019 06:30

YABU.

BarbaraofSevillle · 03/06/2019 06:31

Omg, WTF is wrong with you? I hope you actually put it outside.

Holdthedamndoor · 03/06/2019 06:33

Really?

Eliza9919 · 03/06/2019 07:24

You should have given it sugar water and put it outside.

AguerosAngel · 03/06/2019 07:45

I really hope you’re joking......although I suspect not!

Charley34 · 04/06/2019 11:37

YABVU bees are declining yet you do this ! Took u much longer to write on paper and post this.......🙁

BowiesJumper · 04/06/2019 12:06

Why can't you put a mug over it, slide a card under and take it outside?

WhiteVixen · 04/06/2019 12:11

I’m calling reverse.

Antigon · 04/06/2019 12:16

I hope vixen is right and this is a reverse. What an awful thing to do and then to seek validation here.

YABU. Hope the perpetrator gets stung by a wasp in revenge.

HappyMama01 · 04/06/2019 12:22

That's horrific! And people wonder why there's a decline in the bee population.. YABVVVVVVVVU.

nokidshere · 04/06/2019 12:28

Dear god. It's a bee. Just one.

Would have been better to let it out but if you couldn't, you couldn't.

Major overreaction from the people replying.

Squigglesworth · 04/06/2019 12:36

Agree that some are overreacting, but it does seem strange to start this thread instead of just dealing with the bee, unless there are other factors at play (e.g. fear of bees or an allergy).

TitusP · 04/06/2019 12:49

It just seems so illogical. You didn't have time to slide the piece of paper under the cup and put the bee outside but you did have time to find a pen and write your note? If I was your DH I'd be pretty miffed at this alone regardless of the bee welfare arguments being made above.

Disfordarkchocolate · 04/06/2019 12:56

We get dozens of bees in the house, they soon find the window and can be let out. If they are tired just treat like a spider but put on a flower. Poor bee 😞

myDHhasahobbyanditsnotcycling · 04/06/2019 13:04

I do that with spiders Grin

I don't think I would have bothered with a bee, just left a note on the door so no one steps on it and get stung? A wasp would have been dealt with a shoe and problem solved, but with window opened the bee would have likely left before the others get up anyway.

FilledSoda · 04/06/2019 14:17

But why do that ?
It's so unnecessary and cruel .

SilverySurfer · 04/06/2019 15:42

In the time it took you to write the note, you could have put it outside. Are you not aware of the current decimation of bee numbers? Or is it just that you don't give a fuck? Either way it's bloody cruel to cut off its air supply. Biscuit

JacquesHammer · 04/06/2019 15:44

I’m calling reverse

Are you hoping it is actually the bee posting? Grin

OP yes YWVU
