To just leave it there?

I leave for work very early most mornings around 5.30 so DH and DC are still in bed.
This morning there was a bee crawling around the kitchen floor, AIBU to have just put a mug over it, write "bee" with an arrow on a piece of paper and then leave the house?

(Kitchen had a baby gate so the kids won't find it first btw)

Poor bee hope it's still alive.

MummyStruggles · 04/06/2019 16:25

Why though?

SilverySurfer · 04/06/2019 16:27

JacquesHammer exactly - actually, I'm the bee's mother - you killed my baby OP!

ElizaPancakes · 04/06/2019 16:29

Really think some people need to get a sense of perspective. It’s one bee. Why’s it ok to splat a bee but not do this? Bee numbers declining isn’t the fault of ONE BEE in OPs house.

PhalangeReginaPhalange · 04/06/2019 16:34

Not sure why you couldn’t have flung it outside if you managed to get it under a cup but I think it would probably survive until ops dh came down to find it.

slyoldfox · 04/06/2019 16:39

Ok

YABU. It might be 'one bee' but bees are in decline and leaving anything to die of suffocation is cruel and it is cruel to splat things too. Take them outside and set them free.

FuckMNDoubleStandards · 04/06/2019 17:13

Seriously failing to understand your logic here.. Hmm

Unnecessarily cruel, you clearly had enough time to take it outside if you can do all the other stuff you did.

SilverySurfer · 04/06/2019 18:51

Why’s it ok to splat a bee but not do this?

WTF no it's not ok to splat a bee! Hmm

HappyMama01 · 04/06/2019 19:35

Who splats a bee?!

Uzicorn · 04/06/2019 19:41

No it's not ok to splat a bee. And there are 7 billion humans on earth but that doesn't make it ok to splat just ONE HUMAN. Have some decency.

ElizaPancakes · 05/06/2019 09:36

Should have said ‘why’s it ok to splat a WASP’. As @myDHhasahobbyanditsnotcycling says it would be dealt with by a shoe and she does the same with spiders?

I don’t attach the same importance to a single insect to a human being.

SherlockSays · 08/06/2019 08:16

@ElizaPancakes and that's why humans are a despicable race and are killing the planet.

I can never get over the self-importance that humans have put on themselves, who actually gave us the right to anything above any other species - from huge mammals down to tiny insects?

SleepingStandingUp · 08/06/2019 08:19

I don't understand. You wanted to show DH you killed a bee?? Why would you leave his dead body for your DH to dispose of?

MaMaMaMySharona · 08/06/2019 08:25

People put more importance on bees than wasps/spiders/mosquitos (myself included).

OP please come back and tell us the bee is ok!

MaMaMaMySharona · 08/06/2019 08:26

Sorry should have added, I don’t kill any of the above insects. I actually really like spiders 🕷
