That wedding with the ban on Champions League final?

A few weeks´ago there was a thread about a wedding where the bride and groom had banned the final this evening. I wonder what has been going on there tonight? Did everyone leave the reception at 8pm? Did the B&G give in to the inevitable and put up a TV?

I did think about that tonight lol

DoNotDisturbPlease · 01/06/2019 21:58

Omg I know a couple of nutters who got married today and the bride is a massive drama queen so I wonder if it was them?! Whoever wrote the thread was the wedding in the south east (I know thats vague!)

ShitAtScarbble · 01/06/2019 21:58

I don't know if it was the same wedding but there was a short item on Radio 4's Today programme this morning about a London couple getting married today who HAD commissioned a room with large screen TVs for people to watch. I did wonder if it was the same people Grin

I think the wedding in question was actually in Liverpool. It really did sound like the B&G were wildly optimistic in thinking people wouldn't watch the match.

Or it might have been that one of the families was from Liverpool...

I wondered about this too! I'm pretty sure the wedding itself was in Liverpool. Hope someone can find the original post or the OP finds this one to update Grin

Liverpool, just like ManU, has a massive WW following. 'Pool is very big in the East, Arsenal is massive in a lot of African countries. You don't have to be born in a city to have an allegiance to a team

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 01/06/2019 22:05

I have also wondered this tonight. The thread made it onto a few twitter feeds 😂

AngeloMysterioso · 01/06/2019 22:05

@User12038483 how’s that wedding going? Grin

Amanduh · 01/06/2019 22:07

Anyone that left a party to watch that shower made a bad decision!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 01/06/2019 22:07

It did get a mention on the BBC text...

'I'm beginning to think those people on Mumsnet who banned the game at a wedding were on to something'

BadnessInTheFolds · 01/06/2019 22:07

I was wondering about it too, also the one where the baby was due this week and its father (OP's DH) had booked tickets to go to Madrid.
What happened with that one in the end? I've lost it!

Toddlerteaplease · 01/06/2019 22:09

I've also been thinking about it. Hope they've had a lovely day

AngeloMysterioso · 01/06/2019 22:13

the one where the baby was due this week and its father (OP's DH) had booked tickets to go to Madrid.

What?? I missed that one!

sonjadog · 01/06/2019 22:16

Yes, that’s the one. I hope the OP sees this thread and updates!

Forget an update on CL final @SmellbowSmellbow123 I'm more curious did Smellbow lady ever discover the cause of the smell?

Drum2018 · 01/06/2019 22:21

The wedding will be a fun place to be tonight if they did give in and show the game.

fecketyfeck21 · 01/06/2019 22:26

like weddings aboard, sometimes you have to accept some people won't turn up.

BadnessInTheFolds · 01/06/2019 22:28

@User1474894224 asking the real questions GrinGrinGrin

sonjadog · 01/06/2019 22:32

I missed the smell thread.

I thought about this while watching the game!

I’d never be that type of bride. I would have set up a separate room with a screen and snacks. And, as a Spurs fan who lives near Liverpool, I would have been in there watching myself!

Buffy81 · 01/06/2019 22:32

I was just looking for the original thread on that one though my daily emails, but that thread got filled up. Really hope that they see this thread or if not, they start their own which will be easy to find.

I guess we wont hear from the OP of that until tomorrow

EachandEveryone · 01/06/2019 22:32

What is the score btw?

toffee1000 · 01/06/2019 22:34

2-0 to Liverpool at the end.
