I always have to watch it when I see it is on. Luckily I live alone 3/4 of the time but...it has been noticed by the fam xD I just can't help it, I love this film, despite their objections haha.

And it makes me bawl like a baby even though I've probably seen it about 20 times by now xD

It was just on
wipes eyes sniffle

Also, has anyone ever met someone who didn't cry to this film?

Hate it on the TV as its really long with adverts and it's quite a bad movie too

ShinyMe · 25/05/2019 16:56

Yeah... I often end up watching it if it's on. I have never cried at it though. I don't know why I watch it - for a terrible film with ridiculous situations and cardboard cutout characters, it's oddly likeable.

Eminybob · 25/05/2019 16:59

Is it on today?
If I were on my own I probably would, but I don’t think DH could tolerate it again!

Pgqio · 25/05/2019 17:00

I've seen it hundreds of times even though it's a load of old pony. I can't believe how many times Rose says "Jack!? Jack!?" It takes up about a third of the dialogue.

TeaForTheWin · 25/05/2019 17:02

Eminybob You might catch the end on e4+1

ShinyMe · 25/05/2019 17:04

Haha @pgqio - I just turned on E4 and literally the first thing I saw was Rose going "JACK!!"

Nicolastuffedone · 25/05/2019 17:05

Five minutes in, I was cheering for the iceberg......

mabelsgarden · 25/05/2019 17:08

I proper love the 1998 film TITANIC, and never get bored with it.

Jack and Rose... awwwwwwww ❤️ As Joey in Friends said... Those 2 had only each other...... !!! Wahhhhhh 😭😢

I watch it 3-4 times a year. Not on TV though as the ad breaks piss me off. Always the DVD. Smile

I watch Dante's Peak everytime it's on, and that's a bloody awful film. I've not idea why I always turn to the channel it's on!

Pgqio · 25/05/2019 17:10

Leo is so beautiful in it though ❤️

TeaForTheWin · 25/05/2019 17:14

Yeah I always liked leo better in those days, not a fan of him now. I think the hairstyle needs to make a comeback xD I'm sure most would disagree there though haha.

theinvestigator: haha same about dantes peak actually even though I don't like it. I think maybe it's the suspense element of the volcano keeps me watching. It certainly isn't brosnen haha.

I'm like this with the Fugitive. Have to watch it. Come on, Richard Kimble, do whatever it takes to prove you didn't kill Mrs Kimble!

BlackToothpaste · 25/05/2019 17:21

I think it’s shiter than shite, and goes on forever, and Leonardo Di C looks like a cross between a small child and a potato in it — and Rose is charmless, and has that weird dyed-redhead thing going on, though I usually like Kate Winslet — but we al have shite films we are bizarrely compelled by.

I have a weird nostalgic thing for Mystic Pizza.

mabelsgarden · 25/05/2019 17:25

Leo did look so lovely in the late 90s and I did fancy him, but now he looks waaaaaaay too young. Grin I prefer him now! Smile

Here he is, with Brad Pitt (they are co-stars in a new film called Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. hubba hubba! )

I don’t cry at this film.

I’ve seen it once, I don’t need to see it again. I know what happens.

mabelsgarden · 25/05/2019 17:28

@BlackToothpaste

Not a fan of Titanic then????????? Or Leo and Kate in it?! 😂😂😂

Pgqio · 25/05/2019 17:28

He's grown back into his looks again, he was pretty doughey for a few years but he's mighty fine again.

EscapeTheCastle · 25/05/2019 17:29

Deep Impact draws me in if it's on. I enjoy a disaster and scramble bikes.

Do love Titanic. Always makes me cry.

Watched it so many times I have started to notice "issues". Why does old Rose surround herself with glamorous photos of herself? Most folk have family photos up. Not Rose! It's all about me, me, me! (Obv photos communicate her rich full life full of adventure inspired by the tragedy she escaped and the pure loving inspiration that was Jack!)

Notanidiot · 25/05/2019 17:31

When it first came out I watched it about 4 times at the cinema.

I love watching disaster movies. I know I should feel guilty about Titanic as the film is based on a real event. Towering Inferno is a great film but I think it will be a very, very long time before that is shown again on mainstream channels due to revent events.

Lucked · 25/05/2019 17:33

I’m like this with Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, Jerry Maguire and The Martian. Just get immediately hooked again.

Okwhereisit · 25/05/2019 17:36

Just said to dd that I haven't seen this for ages and stumbled upon it this afternoon. I know the Jack and Rose story is really cheesy but really enjoyed it today after a stressful morning at work, it helped me unwind. Just have the bloody theme tune now stuck in my head - my heart will go on - and on all evening.

BlackToothpaste · 25/05/2019 17:36

mabel, I saw it in an old cinema with no middle aisle, was sitting right in the middle of the row, inwardly begging for the ship to sink (or Rose to drown Jack, whichever was quickest), but was too polite to get up and squeeze past the twenty the sniffing, sobbing people between me and freedom. Grin

I remember think that Old Rose must be the vainest and most self-centred woman on the planet if she actually packed a gazillion framed photos of herself doing cool stuff for a boat trip to the wreck of the Titanic, and set them all up in her cabin.

TSSDNCOP · 25/05/2019 17:36

Yes but then again I do it with Apollo 13. I have no idea how many times I've watched it but it must be over 100.

Laiste · 25/05/2019 17:38

Just made the cat jump bursting out laughing at child/potato DeCaprio Grin
