To watch 'Titanic' every time it comes on?

I always have to watch it when I see it is on. Luckily I live alone 3/4 of the time but...it has been noticed by the fam xD I just can't help it, I love this film, despite their objections haha.

And it makes me bawl like a baby even though I've probably seen it about 20 times by now xD

It was just on
wipes eyes sniffle

Also, has anyone ever met someone who didn't cry to this film?

I used to work on cruise ships and I can't watch it. We had a few scares when I was out there and every time I used to replay titanic in my head and imagine that happening.
Now when I watch it, I'm right back on the ship and I bawl my eyes out.
Too real

The film i've most watched is First Blood, the first rambo film. I was totally mesmerised by him in it as a prepubescent child and the fascination still lingers.

Stallone these days looks like a melted waxwork of himself. But i still love him :)

Admit it, he’s slightly potato-ey. Then he was like a little Cornish new potato. Now he’s more like a big roasting Maris Piper. Grin

I’ve never cried - just watched it with DM. Dear me.

I’m with you on Apollo 13 TSSDNCOP. maybe not 100 times though.

SentientPotato · 25/05/2019 17:43

Bloody hell, mabelsgarden that picture! Wouldn't mind being the cheese in that sandwich Shock

Laiste · 25/05/2019 17:49

BlackToothpaste oh i'm with you yes, i can see it clearly. And the aging potato - yep.

I'm more of a Pitt admirer.

My Granny's aunt died on it, so yes, I cry. She was 24 and a great singer (by all accounts - clearly I've never met her) and it was her birthday the night it sank, so I always see her as being at the party downstairs in steering class as is depicted in the film. She was with 14 people from her locality who all died. I like to think of her having a party than being petrified and drowning.

ghostyslovesheets · 25/05/2019 17:56

nope Titanic is shite - A Night To Remember though - I'd watch that if it was on !

Gemmmmmma · 25/05/2019 18:08

I typically just read here but I had to reply!! Op, are you me? I love titanic and have to watch it every time too. Sometimes it's a bit inconvenient but I can't stop myself. I've sent your post to all my family, they need to know I'm not the only person that does this.

Bagofworries · 25/05/2019 19:00

I've watched titanic a few times, yet never understood why Rose throws the huge blue diamond back into the water at the end?
Didnt the authorities believe she had died on the boat? So what did she live on for all of those years? Didnt she think to sell the diamond in all of those years?
However, if she found a gold mine, and didnt need the diamond, why wouldnt she leave it to her living relatives?
I've never understood that part. Seems an odd yet bizarrely selfish thing to do at the end

TeaForTheWin · 25/05/2019 19:05

Gemmmmm(m?)a You are most definitely not alone there xD

bagofworries I guess because the diamond is called 'the heart of the ocean so...she's trying to be symbolic or something? Lol. Doesn't really have much to do with her and jack though so yeah...bit random. Old bat could have left it for her kid instead, mind you, as others pointed out, she has so many pictures of herself she maybe doesn't much think of others xD

I think it’s shiter than shite, and goes on forever,

Thank God it's not just me who thinks like that! My daughter dragged me to the cinema to see it, and to pay naturally, and I spent two hours saying For heaven's sake, just sink!

junebirthdaygirl · 25/05/2019 19:38

Oh l was like you Lady. All l could think of is where the bloody iceberg and when is it all over. I didn't shed a tear and l cry at lots of movies, news stories everything but not that bloody movie. I hated it.
