To ask everyone's go to Friday night dinner ?!

DH works away lots. I work full time demanding job. I'm exhausted, carry the load whilst he's away. I'm currently attempting to dance round my kitchen being cheerful - indulging in wine - whilst making a massaman curry. The boys are at footie. Didn't fancy take away. What's everyone's lazy weekend dinners ?! (ps live overseas so it's acceptable to be on the wine ...)

Friday night is usually a takeaway if not takeaway we wander over the road to our lovely local pub as they do great fish and chips or five minutes walk to our favourite curry house.
It’s rare I cook on a Friday.
Enjoy your curry.

donkir · 24/05/2019 11:33

Always takeaway on a Friday.

RictusGin · 24/05/2019 11:36

Mine is a sausage, courgette and mascarpone pasta, takes 15 minutes and is gorgeous. You can find it on BBC Good Food Smile

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 24/05/2019 11:36

Shit on it!

Megan2018 · 24/05/2019 11:37

No takeaways here as too rural, but we usually have a take away style dinner.

Often gourmet burgers - really nice buns, quality burger, lots of cheese, other toppings served with good quality beer battered onion rings etc. Or posh hotdogs.
Fish and chips (oven baked), sometimes Pizza Express pizzas (supermarket bought) or a supermarket takeaway curry or chinese.

19lottie82 · 24/05/2019 11:37

Take away, usually sweet and sour pork from the chinese, or a frozen pizza.

CrazyCatNerd · 24/05/2019 11:38

We usually have something like pizza (nice shop bought ones).
I like cooking meals from scratch but I’m often exhausted by the time Friday comes and prefer to get something quick to bung in the oven.
The filled tortellini type pastas with a sauce and garlic bread are another Friday dinner for us

thinkofausernameplease · 24/05/2019 11:39

Fajita Friday!

usernamerisnotavailable · 24/05/2019 11:39

Fuck it all Friday pizzas.

Hiphopopotamus · 24/05/2019 11:39

I’m partial to a lovely bit of squirrel 🐿

usernamerisnotavailable · 24/05/2019 11:40

But tonight we're having a bbq to celebrate it being half term and sunny for another couple of days ☀️

DramaRamaLlama · 24/05/2019 11:41

Usually a Chinese take away

Xiaoxiong · 24/05/2019 11:42

Friday night is always pizza night for the kids, with a big plate of cut up peppers, cuke, carrots and cherry toms. Makes it easy to do the meal plan every week!

If DH is out I eat pizza with the kids. If he's in, I will cook something while he sorts the kids out but I enjoy cooking and find it therapeutic. If we honestly can't be bothered or are home late, we have wine, cheese and biscuits, and more cut up veg with hummus/taramasalata/babaganoush.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 24/05/2019 11:43

Tonight we’re having fresh burgers with caramelised onions and plastic cheese and thick chips with a spinach salad. Home made lemon and poppy seed cake for afters.
I had overnight oats for breakfast for the first time this morning. They were bloody disgusting.

BillywigSting · 24/05/2019 11:43

Either pizza or some kind of easy dinner out of the freezer.

I'm bloody knackered on a. Friday.

No idea what I'm going to do tonight as need to take ds to hospital for a routine asthma check up at twenty to four so I'll probably just go to the chipper on the way home

Ronnie27 · 24/05/2019 11:44

Chip shop! I don’t even particularly like chips just enjoy the not cooking part. Grin

icelolly99 · 24/05/2019 11:49

.....bit of nippy nippy Wink

YessicaHaircut · 24/05/2019 11:50

We’re having baked Camembert and French bread tonight. One of my favourite meals and minimal cooking involved!

Yokohamajojo · 24/05/2019 11:59

Fish Tacos - nothing authentic about it at all! I buy breaded fish goujons, if they are big I halv them, bung them in the oven with taco spice on them and then eat with either soft or hard taco shells and whatever family wants on them, usually Chilli salsa, if I have avocados I do a guacamole, creme fraishe, cheese, salad, cucumber, onions and tomatoes.

Chickenwings85 · 24/05/2019 12:09

I take a huge fish to my neighbour and ask her to cook it for me and my dog.
Shalom!

Lairydea · 24/05/2019 12:14

Lovely bit of squirrel.

WhoKnewBeefStew · 24/05/2019 12:15

Steak, wedges and mushrooms

Usually something quick because DD has a late ish activity, fresh pasta, omelette & chips. Chicken & cous cous.
Tonight is hot dogs (with proper sausages not tinned).
