Yes, that annoying phrase is doing the rounds and putting pressure on women to get in shape, lose weight, shave bits that haven't seen the light of day since last summer, upping your tanning habits NOW!!

OP posts:
Hotterthanahotthing · 05/05/2019 02:23

Have dug out my winter jumpers again, looks like they will be needed for the next week.
I am loosing weight though but that is because I'm fat!

Tavannach · 05/05/2019 02:26

I have my SPF 50 and I'm okay with my flabby bits. Does that count?

Seahorseshoe · 05/05/2019 03:11

I've been summer ready since last Autumn - hate the gloomy, cold, leafless days.

As for grooming and dieting - nope! I have swam in the sea in Cornwall this year already though, I was the only person without a wetsuit, just my cossy. It was bloody freezing, but it made me feel totally alive.

Seren85 · 05/05/2019 03:15

I'm always summer ready. If we get one. Because I'm alive and it is summer.

Fantababy · 05/05/2019 03:15

I'm in Scotland so still in my jumpers and jeans. No sign of putting away the winter clothes here so no need to worry about exposing bits of my body!

Onlysocks · 05/05/2019 03:31

I own sunglasses and sun cream - that’s all you need to be summer ready.

HerRoyalNotness · 05/05/2019 03:46

I’ve already got a tan from the actual sun. Summer is here and I’m not ready cos it’s horribly humid and gets disgustingly 🥵

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 05/05/2019 03:47

9 degrees here in Yorkshire today.

I might be summer ready but summer isn't!

Jebuschristchocolatebar · 05/05/2019 06:47

I turned up the bottom of my jeans a little yesterday exposing some pale hairy ankle. That’s summer ready in my view

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 05/05/2019 06:50

I hate those articles. It used to make me feel awful that I didn’t look like the girls in the picture .. with long legs and long blonde hair. Until one day I realised I would never look like them. I am 5ft 3. Have dumpy legs and brown thin hair.

But my husband always tells me I’m beautiful and says he would love me even if I was wearing a black bag. So. I’m now happy.

Thatsnotmyotter · 05/05/2019 06:51

My legs are quite hairy and I have a wonky c section scar but sod it, I’ll be fine.

Angelicinnocent · 05/05/2019 07:05

I have my lightweight rain jacket ready to go with non thermal socks. That is summer ready in these parts!

speakout · 05/05/2019 07:07

Freezing here, we had snow on Friday- no way am I exposing my skin.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 05/05/2019 07:09

Well I had a baby 6 weeks ago but the lochia has just about stopped so I’m sure my string bikini will be fine.

JeezYouLoon · 05/05/2019 07:10

We still have the winter duvets on here, it was 8.5 degrees yesterday.

The garden is getting summer ready, already had a few BBQs.

As for me personally I'm too old to care, as long as I'm happy and healthy that'll do for me. The light mornings and better weather means lots of early morning runs which is good for the soul and far better than a bronzed de-haired body 😎

floraloctopus · 05/05/2019 07:10

Absolutely, summer ready all the time - I have my shorts in my wardrobe and sunglasses in my car. Bring it on Grin

terriblyoriginalusername · 05/05/2019 07:14

I'm getting a slight sense of sarcasm from this thread, so I thought I'd share these tips for those who REALLY want a bikini body;

to ask if you are "summer-ready"?
terriblyoriginalusername · 05/05/2019 07:15

Pic fail....

to ask if you are "summer-ready"?
FairyBunnyAgain · 05/05/2019 07:25

I’m summer ready, I have got my shorts out of the drawer under the bed and put the thermals in there. Am I foolish and likely to regret my rash actions last weekend?

As for my body, I am overweight with operation scar on my torso so never going to wear a bikini again.

On the plus side I always have painted toenails as i prefer to go barefoot and my legs are not hairy after years of waxing and my skin has a gentle natural glow after a winter sun get away.

TwittleBee · 05/05/2019 07:26

Yup SPF50 at the ready!

Our garden is certainly not summer-ready though... haha.

Do bloody hate that phrase too.

lljkk · 05/05/2019 07:29

I go swimming twice a week which I guess is why I don't understand the thread.

wanderings · 05/05/2019 07:33

I'm always summer ready - I love summer clothes, warm weather, baring my legs, doing outdoor things, and hiding the threads on MN where people moan about the heat. Whether my body looks like the magazine ideal is irrelevant. Smile The only summer thing I don't seem to have cracked is the love of flip flops - I can't walk far in them at all, so my summer footwear is sensible walking sandals, or Supergas on my bare feet.

CountFosco · 05/05/2019 07:36

No I'm not summer ready, we are going to Scotland in the summer and the kids need new raincoats before we go.

KnitFastDieWarm · 05/05/2019 07:42

I have sun cream, a big straw hat, sunglasses, a completely unbothered attitude to exposing my glorious pasty fat arse to the world, and a fuckton of aperol spritz - does that count? Grin

Shockers · 05/05/2019 07:43

In our glass walled dining room it was toasty yesterday, so I donned shorts and a strappy top to go out to do some gardening. Came in and changed pretty sharpish when I felt the wind!

Ready when you are, summer!

I’ll still be portly and hirsute though.
