So, dd (over 18) is out of the country for the week end.
On arriving at the airport she realised she hadn't put her regular Lotto line on for tonight - need be in the UK to play using her app.
I agreed to use my cash with her numbers to enable her to enter as per usual.
If she were to win however, who would be entitled to the cash?
Lighthearted as chances of a win are likely nil as per usual!!

50/50

Chickychoccyegg · 27/04/2019 15:38

dd, as they're her numbers that she asked you to put on for her. though, i would try for 50/50 Grin

Easterbunnyhashoppedoff · 27/04/2019 15:41

My cash though!

Assuming she is giving you the money back...then her winnings

HennyPennyHorror · 27/04/2019 15:42

Hmm It's your DD for fuck's sake!

"My cash though!" seems very ugly.

Tavannach · 27/04/2019 15:48

I'd go 50/50, and expect her to happy with that. If she sees it as being her ticket I'd still expect 50/50. She wouldn't have a chance at all if you didn't buy the ticket.

goldenchicken · 27/04/2019 15:49

'It's my cash though!'

WOW. Confused

Are you going to bill your DD for the money you spent on raising her too?! Hmm

What a horrible attitude you have. Your poor daughter..... Sad

Easterbunnyhashoppedoff · 27/04/2019 15:50

Note the' lighthearted' at end to my post...

HennyPennyHorror · 27/04/2019 15:56

Just the fact that you thought about it though OP....enough to post to try to get some opinions.

No. Not nice.

Happyspud · 27/04/2019 15:58

She is getting a loan from you. Not purchasing the ticket with you. The winnings are all hers but you need to get your loan back.

rabbitheadlights · 27/04/2019 15:58

Ha ha possession wins out ... Feel free to buy DD a treat if you win OP

StillCoughingandLaughing · 27/04/2019 15:59

Note the' lighthearted' at end to my post...

Then why bother?

Easterbunnyhashoppedoff · 27/04/2019 15:59

Light-hearted was to get thoughts on other situations that have gone wrong or right with Lotto or other sharing money situations.
Wasted post it seems.
Oh and fwiw I loaded dd the spends for her trip.
Not a tyrant dm as you seem to think...

Her numbers and she will pay you back? So her winnings!

But of course I am sure if she won millions she would share 😊

Snog · 27/04/2019 16:00

If you play in her name and she wins the money is 100% hers but she owes you the ticket cost still.
If you play in your own name it's your winnings.

TheGoodEnoughWife · 27/04/2019 16:02

Who actually stood in the queue and bought the ticket? That person wins. Even if the money was a loan from you but she bought the ticket then her. If you bought the ticket using her numbers then you :-)
(Understands this is light hearted but playing along :-))

LittleElle · 27/04/2019 16:03

HennyPennyHorror u ok hun?

HennyPennyHorror · 27/04/2019 16:05

Elle are you new here? That response is a bit old hat.

thefuriousfuggler · 27/04/2019 16:06

Surely you buy two tickets using the same numbers - one for you, one for your DD - then both of you lose win Grin

Sux2buthen · 27/04/2019 16:07

@thefuriousfuggler exactly! Saves arguments Grin

Tavannach · 27/04/2019 16:11

Surely you buy two tickets using the same numbers - one for you, one for your DD - then both of you lose win

Or you buy two tickets, one with her numbers and one lucky dip or numbers you've chosen, thus doubling your chances. Text your DD to tell her that this time the two of you are a syndicate with a 50/50 split on two tickets and you'll buy the tickets when she texts back agreeing. Keep the texts.

littlemeitslyn · 27/04/2019 16:31

'You ok hun' 🤮🤮🤮🤮

HolesinTheSoles · 27/04/2019 16:48

If she's planning to pay you back or you bought it as a gift she keeps it all but I'd expect her to offer you a big chunk. Since I clarified all this for you I'm also entitled to 10% pm me if you win!

greyspottedgoose · 27/04/2019 16:51

I read it as lighthearted op, and it made me laugh, I served someone the other day who was buying a lucky dip as a gift to go in a card, then wanted me to do them another ticket with the same numbers incase it won so they would have half of the money 😂🙈 it was for a close family member too!

Lllot5 · 27/04/2019 16:53

Your daughter’s winnings I think. If she didn’t ask you to buy a lottery ticket you wouldn’t have done so. She can pay you back the loan of the stake.
She can split it with me though for giving her good adviceGrin
