To think that Lorraine is a terrible interviewer

I have just had the misfortune to watch Lorraine interviewing Rod Stewart and it was just cringy. Constant interrupting and interjecting, gushing like mad, gurny crazed looking expression.

Is she always like this and if so aibu to wonder how on earth she became famous when she is embarrassing to watch?

I have wondered for years how she has kept that job - I cannot stand to watch her, she is so fawning and sickly and gushing and she always says the same thing 'its been a joy' 'och dont you look great' on and on (do you get im not keen?Grin) and as for that laugh ugghghghg

She’s the most irritating person in the universe! Absolute cringe. She just kisses peoples arse. Unless it’s someone the public doesn’t like, then she’ll be nasty to them. I saw her interview jade goody and she was a real bully. Don’t watch any more. She’s very anti English as well. Piers Morgan is always pulling her up on that.

She’s awful. And she also speaks for her guests all the time.
L: So you’ve really enjoyed making this film haven’t you?
Guest: Yes I’ve-
L: And I read that you loved working with so and so because he’s so inspiring?
Guest: Yes that’s right he’s-
L: It must have been such a great experience for you in your career?
Guest: Yes-

She is exactly as previous posters have described, and I find her terribly poor at interviewing

The reason I think she continues in her role and has done for decades is that she does a marvellous PR puff piece for anything a film studio or music label want to sell. From their perspective, who cares if she talks over them, she’s positive to 95% of her guests, and her and the ghastly Ross King are so in thrall to the idea of Hollywood celebrity that they seem pitifully grateful to have anyone from the world of celluloid on their sofa or on TV link.

Lorraine Kelly can't stand her, she's so awful at interviewing people, i tend to switch her off, why she got so famous is beyond me.

I don't usually care for people started threads slating people, but I agree; Lorraine Kelly is awful. She is sycophantic, smug, and really annoying as an interviewer/host.

Someone on digital spy said once 'she knows where the bodies are buried.' Grin

She must have something on someone at ITV, because I have no idea how she has kept the job for so long. She has half the year off too, and is covered by someone else (usually Christine Bleakley who I like much more...) Makes me laugh when she has EVERY school holiday off. She has one child and she is in her 20's! 😂

Same with Philip Smugfield. Has all the school hols off and his youngest is 23!!

Wish they would replace Lorraine with Christine Bleakley, or even Fern Britton. I used to love her.

She is awful and it actually makes me cross thinking how much money she must have made on the back of being so bad. She comes across as fake and actually quite cold behind the eyes too. I can well believe she bullied Jade Goody

There are very few people I really dislike but she makes my skin crawl!! Constantly interrupting, patronising, irritating and that stupid girly giggle she does 🙄 urgh. Thankfully I only have the misfortune of having to suffer her when I’m visiting my Nan...(she’s deaf so I presume not being able to hear her makes her easier to put up with!) but I agree 100%....she must have something on someone at ITV

I don't dislike her, she's probably a nice person but I agree with a pp... she must have something on someone! I remember when it was some sort of milestone years on TV and GMB then did a special piece on her going back to when she started then clips from over the years.

I thought that was it. But no. Every morning for the whole week there was a feature 'Lorraine 40 years on the telly' type thing. It was totally bizarre. Then a cake. Then flowers.

I remember watching Lisa Snowden doing her spot once. It was so refreshing. Lisa was amusing, interested in the guests, she listened.

She is patronising and condescending In real life too. I met her a few times many years ago through my own job in her local area. Smug and full of her own importance but with that sweet sickly voice and fake smile.

Urgh, I literally get the rage when I think of her over 20 years later

Honestly she is the most patronising woman ever to be on telly.

But to be fair Holly W is just as bad.

Oh and Andrea McLean is bloody awful too.

ITV really need to have a clear out and utilise other people like Christine Bleakly or bring back Ferne Britton.

Omg yes! I caught a bit of her show the other morning and had to switch off. Thought it was just me as I couldn’t understand how she’s survived this long on tv. Just let the guests answer ffs!

Completely agree, she’s terrible! You can literally see her going through her list of questions, that’s it! No chit chat, no building on an answer, just question answer, question answer. She’s just awful.

I think the school holiday thing is quite common among the main presenters even though their children are often grown. As if it's been in their contract and just still stands.

Ken Bruce is always off half terms etc and it really pisses me off because his stand ins are usually shite Grin

what is this story? i just googled it but came up with nothing other than her slagging off Jades husband Jack for tarnishing her memory.
