To ask about s/mashed avocado?

At 34 years old I've recently had my first taste of avocado in a veg sushi roll - and it's good! I'd like to try it mashed on toast (as seems quite popular). Googling comes up with various recipes involving olive oil, salt, chilli, garlic etc. Questions I have are:

  1. Can I just mash avocado without other ingredients?
  2. Do I use a potato masher if I want it completely smooth?
  3. Will it keep in a fridge? How long?

Wow! Sauvingnon!! It's delicious!! I mean really really nice!!! I have an avocado every day!! (Not great for my waist line!! But healthy at least!!)

Well, it’s quite creamy in texture - but it’s often mixed with chilli or lemon - with a vinegarette saice it’s bloody lovely. Nice I’m a tricoloure salad.

No, I don't butter the toast as the avocado does that job.
Sauvignon, it's smooth and creamy and fresh andslightly green tasting and vastly improved by something with acidity or kick, hence all the people adding lemon%dressing/chilli.

Whenisitover you beat me to it with the marmite! I like mashed avocado with bacon too but if I can't be bothered to cook it, the marmite provides perfect replacement saltiness!

Avocado on seeded toast with bacon and a poached egg. Lightly mashed with a fork and salted and peppered. Mmmmm.

Shame that they're only ripe for around ten minutes....Grin

Mild jalapeno Tabasco drizzled on top of mashed avocado on toast.
