Could I be pregnant?!

Period two days late - normally very regular. Been trying for number 2 for 5 years unsuccessfully. Currently trying to lose weight in order to have private IVF. Took a clearblue digital this morning, pregnant 1-2!! Took the other from the same pack a couple of hours later, not pregnant 😟 anyone have any experience of this? Could it be I am pregnant but so early the later test was wrong? I know there’s nothing I can do either way and I’ll test again tomorrow, but this a new kind of hell 😕

First morning urine normally has more pregnancy hormone in. Later in the day it tends to become more dilute as you take in fluids. The digital tests aren't the most sensitive, so you likely just didn't have enough hormone in the later test.

Thanks Bam. That’s what I’m hoping. Wasn’t first thing that I took the first test, more mid morning, then the second a couple of hours later. Couldn’t believe what I was seeing, and now I feel I’m in limbo 😕

It's really unlikely you had a false positive but a chemical pregnancy isn't unheard of either .

Losing weight can help very quickly if you have PCoS so it's possible that's kick started things. I really hope it's the positive you want. But do be prepared for all possibilities Flowers

It's much more likely to have a false negative than a false positive. I'd test again first thing tomorrow morning.

Guy, I don’t have PCOS, nothing wrong in any tests with either DP or I, my tubes are clear, I ovulate, eggs good quality, sperm all good! I haven’t actually lost weight, have gained ridiculously in the last year due to I believe change of antidepressants. I’m trying not to get my hopes up but I want this so very badly 😕

Hold your wee for four hours hardly drink and test again. Hcg Levels are actually higher in the evening.

Thanks for the support everyone! It’s been a long time since I was pregnant, but I’ve been off my food (very unlike me!) absolutely exhausted, when normally I’m a terrible insomniac, lower back pain, super emotional! Only thing is I remember vividly having really sore boobs with DD, but not so much now. Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

Can you get out and get a First Response? I found out I was pg in January after 4 years trying for our second, no apparent reason for it taking so long, so it does happen.

First urine is stronger- Clear Blue are not great for very early although very rare to get false positives. Did you drink lots of fluid before second test as that can dilute your urine as well.

Get First response early they are the best for early pregnancy- if lines start getting fainter then could be a chemical which does mean you are pregnant but stops developing very early. I had this after IVF treatment.

All you can do is keep testing then book to see your doctor for a blood test - try not to stress tho!

Right now you are pregnant unless morning tests change it’s all good! Xx

1-2 on a clearblue means you're 3-4 weeks by hormone levels so it's quite possible a test done later in the day would show negative. So I think you probably are pregnant. Agree that you should try after holding your wee for several hours and/or use a FRER. Fingers crossed for you Smile

Oh I hope so much that the first result was right and the second wrong as urine too dilute! Have sent DP to get me more tests but think he has got clearblue non digital ones! Just have to try not keep doing them and wait until morning 🤦🏻‍♀️

I always thought that false negatives were possible, whereas a false positive is much less so? Sounds positive to me, congratulations!

Have just called DP and sent him back to get first response also! Will let you all know. Just hope I can hold off till morning!

I think false positives are very rare. Those digital tests aren’t great either - id try the cheaper ones with the line. Good luck!

Ooh good luck op! I thought you didn’t have to test first thing with an first response early response... I got a positive in the evening (before my missed period) so if he’s got a pack of two you could theoretically do one tonight... and tomorrow! Just saying...
