My boyfriend has stumbled across a picture on the internet that looks astonishingly like me. It's not me but it looks so much like me I can see why he is upset.

I have reverse image searched and it is coming up with dates in 2013. Is this definitely the date that the image was first put on to the internet?

I look significantly different now than i did in 2013 due to surgery on my face 6 months ago and the picture resembles me now not me then.

Aibu to ask you to help me save my relationship? I don't blame him for questioning it i was questioning it myself until I saw the dates.

Not sure what they look like now, but I have a double. About 20 years ago someobe approached me in boots and asked how my dad was and how the decorating was going.
My dad was in hospital having surgery, and we were having furniture fitted in my bedroom (planned before we knew about the surgery,).
I vaguely tecgognised the woman, but did not know her, and said something to that effect.

It turned out she thought I was someone else, living 5 miles away. So not only do they look similar, they also had an ill parent and were decorating.
Not sure if it is the same person, but both the grandmother if, and a child in my daughter's class have seen a double of me on reruns of catchphrase, on note than one occasion. Thos person even has the same first name as me. They were both convinced I had been on the show when I was younger.
Not sure if that helps, but you obviously have a double somewhere. I can understand him bring surprised/upset if he thought it was you, but your partners response seems an over reaction.

BingandFlop2019 · 17/04/2019 00:34

Ok do NOT click that link!!!! That was NOT what I intended to link to!!!

Pengrin · 17/04/2019 00:37

Grin was that an old copy and paste you had stored?

Meandwinealone · 17/04/2019 00:39

I clicked the link!!!

Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhghg🤦🏻‍♀️

Meandwinealone · 17/04/2019 00:40

maybe op made a trap and now we’re all going to be infected with a creme egg porn virus.

IC4nSeeYourPixels · 17/04/2019 00:44

@BingandFlop2019 clicked on you link expecting to see a meme but got a lload if thumbnail vids with some graphic porn, man plunging his bits into a woman, a man with his knob in some kind of torture device and a close up of a woman fingering herself.

Didn't see any cream egg meme

Not what I was expecting lol. Just mentioning to warn others that it's a link to porn videos rather than a meme.

IC4nSeeYourPixels · 17/04/2019 00:48

Cross post. Too late for me haha.

Meandwinealone · 17/04/2019 00:50

@IC4nSeeYourPixels
If you scrolled right down to the end, you could see it!
And I agree it’s a very close up photo, so a bit odd you can’t see the difference

MrsFoxPlus4 · 17/04/2019 00:54

I also clicked the link. Surely you know if the photo is you or not 😅.

DoubtOfTheOrdinary · 17/04/2019 00:55

Oh god, just clicked that link on a work computer! Thanks bingandflop 😳😂
OP I have a doppleganger who posted a video of herself doing a striptease online. 3 different male friends "stumbled upon" it and sent it to me asking if it was me 🙄 Like you, if I didn't have two left feet and the body confidence of a tortoise know better I'd have thought it was me. All you can do is explain to your BF.

IC4nSeeYourPixels · 17/04/2019 01:05

@Meandwinealone I stopped scrolling at the woman fingering herself because the dog was laid on my lap and looked at my screen and then looked at me with accusing eyes 😂.

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 17/04/2019 01:21

So I’ve searched for creme egg porn memes, found a creme egg section on porn hub and clicked on a link for ‘weird porn eating weird porn face’ and I’m really hoping no one looks at my search history Hmm

KnobOfStork · 17/04/2019 01:34

I clicked on the link before reading the rest of the thread but fortunately my phone asked was I sure I wanted to proceed Grin

NoKnownFather · 17/04/2019 01:48

OP, many years ago (pre FB and others) I was chatting to several people online and we all exchanged head/shoulder photos so we could put a face to the name, all very innocent.

However what none of us realised at the time was that one man was really into photo manipulation and had taken my head/face and put onto the body of a much younger, curvy, nude woman draped in a feather boa, lying on top of a grand piano!! He had done a good job as even 'I' couldn't pick the 'join' where my head was attached to the other body as he had traced the feather outline perfectly. He put male faces onto female bodies and vice versa, and while mine creeped me out, other people's photos were much worse.

Fortunately, for me, his computer crashed some months later and he lost 'all' of his photos...boohoo and crocodile tears!! Then when he asked for another photo, naturally I refused and blocked all future contact as I couldn't risk this happening again. Never have I shared a photo since, with anyone!

Just wondering if something like that could have happened in your situation?

SleepingSloth · 17/04/2019 01:49

Are you Phoebe from Friends? 😂

frenchonion · 17/04/2019 01:51

Why isn't 'don't be daft of course it's not me' enough? Did he think you bunked off work for a quickchocolate based porn shot the other day? As an aside, I met my mum's doppelganger at a wedding party once. I couldn't even get drunk properly because I felt like my mum was there beady eyed watching and judging 😂

MitziK · 17/04/2019 02:03

If he doesn't believe you, he can fuck right off.

I apparently have or had a doppelganger in my town not entirely surprising considering my father's inability to keep it in his trousers circa 1972. Fine, no problem, not me - until she was apparently outside a gay bar when I was going out with somebody who hadn't mentioned before that he was a fucking loon who was also violently homophobic mainly because he couldn't cope with his own repressed desires.

I did feel slightly sorry for both the woman and the bloke who took their kid to the same pub I was at with DD1 one summer, though. DD1 is very distinctive and her own child was so alike that they could have passed as identical twins. It didn't help that they were also wearing the identical dress and shoes, what with being two children the same age. You could feel the hurt and rage from a mile off - and the helplessness of the poor bloke, who, whatever else he did or didn't do, he certainly hadn't been fucking me six years previously. Even catching a glimpse of the child playing made me stop and blink, they were so alike. I do wonder whether they stayed together in the end.

Anyhow, yes, doubles do exist - and if he isn't believing you, then he needs to fuck off now, as he won't let it go, ever.

BlackCatSleeping · 17/04/2019 02:36

Ok, guys, we don't need to search for the meme. If the OP wanted to share the meme, then she would have posted it. 🤦🏼‍♀️

As you say the photos were uploaded a long time ago and you don't look like that now, so it isn't you. It's just a coincidence, so don't worry and Easter will be over soon. Flowers

LoudJazzHands · 17/04/2019 03:09

I have to burn my laptop now.

Ce7913 · 17/04/2019 03:32
  1. If there are instances of that photograph appearing from 2013, the photograph was taken prior to or during 2013.

If the webpages where the photographs appear are themselves indexed/archived or otherwise dated to 2013, this is even more conclusive.

I don't understand why this is confusing to your boyfriend.

A photo taken in 2019 cannot, according the physical laws of the universe, have been uploaded in 2013.

Unless he thinks you, or someone else you know, has that 'Back to the Future' car, then I don't get what the issue is.

  1. Yes, of course metadata of the individual photos can be manipulated superficially (though not reliably).

But this scenario requires that we all suspend disbelief and accept that you have not only the burning, irrepressible desire to take smutty (Easter themed?) identifying pornographic photographs of yourself and upload them on the internet, but simultaneously, the somewhat advanced technical know-how, specific software and foresight to have manipulated the metadata - ! - prior to uploading it?

From someone who (no offense) thought that a photo first uploaded in 2013 could have actually been taken six years later?

  1. My best friend, a guy, has a female doppleganger at my uni. It's breathtaking how identical they are, down to the ginger corkscrew ringlets. So much so that when I asked to take a photo of her from several angles, and showed his mother, she was dead set certain it was him, and that I was trying to trick her.
  1. You've told your boyfriend it isn't you. If he's straight up not believing you or calling you a liar, you have bigger problems than a pornographic doppelganger.
BoomBoomsCousin · 17/04/2019 03:39

The upload/creation date isn't totally reliable but it's quite unusual for it to predate when the photo was actually uploaded. So it's pretty good evidence the photo was taken/uploaded long before you looked like the woman in the photo.

I think it's really worrying that your boyfriend wouldn't just believe you hadn't done it, though. Apart from the doppelganger possibility, photo manipulation has got so good lately that it would be fairly easy for anyone to take a porn image and replace the actresses face with your own. Assuming a photo is some kind of proof when you yourself have said you've never done anything like that is naive and nasty of him.

Dieu · 17/04/2019 04:24

What a bizarre thread! Surely you would know whether or not it's you, judging by the context?! Confused

HBStowe · 17/04/2019 06:11

So just to clarify, you have explained to your partner that it isn’t you and you’ve never been a porn star, but he is refusing to believe you? Because if so you honestly have bigger problems on your hands. Why is he so mistrustful? And how did he come across these pictures in the first place?

TheFatberg · 17/04/2019 06:19

HBStowe if you read the whole thread, the OP said the image is a meme shared on Facebook.

SteveTheSpiderPlant · 17/04/2019 06:52

Thanks everyone the thread really helped my own peace of mind. I was so convinced it was me and someone had photo shopped it or something. It wasnt just my boyfriend who thought it was me it I thought aomehiw it was me toi the resemblance is uncanny. I just didn't understand how it coukd be. Well it obviously isnt so that is a relief.

I have never used the reverse image thing before so didn't know about the metadata i have never even heard of meta data before.

Sone of you have given me a right laugh too so thanks for that. Sorry to anyone who will never look at creme eggs the same way again.

I don't mind anyone looking dir the meme I wasn't about to post it incase I looked like some weird easter porn troll.
