Sandals that don't burn your feet when walking

This isn't an AIBU - posting for traffic. Tried in Style and Beauty and got no response. Can anyone recommend sandals that don't burn the soles of your feet when walking. Most of the ones I have are more or less ok in this country but when I go on holiday what with the heat and walking further, it can be agony. Any suggestions - have tried to rubber sole things but not entirely successful. Also, want something half decent that looks ok at night - flatties are fine.

Sorry furry but I don’t think they exist. It’s either granny sandals or burnt feet.

I got some sketchers ones last year which were great. More a flip flop than a sandal really and not very dressy but so comfy.

What about a sort of fit-flop with the thicker platform (or 'flatform', as I believe it's called Grin)?? Or a more sandaly type but with some kind of thicker sole.

I know what you mean about the sandals though!

I just go for my trainers for the day and then take a different pair of shoes for nights out. I value comfort too much to be plagued by sandals when trekking around sightseeing and have never found any to be comfortable.

Birkenstocks. I live in mine in the summer.

Justkeeprollingalong · 15/04/2019 18:30

I walk miles in Birkenstock's Mayari, they look fine with a summer dress too

Cross post @FineWordsForAPorcupine !

Some of your suggestions are great thanks - it's not helped by the fact that I have slim fitting feet so a lot of sandals are too big - especially flip flops.

I've for a pair of saltwaters which are comfy.

Also can someone recommend a bikini that covers my thighs and stomach?

Hmm

I have the same problem OP, and I'm usually fine with anything that has a leather insole

BetsyBigNose · 15/04/2019 18:46

Another vote for Birkenstocks - I think they look good with most outfits. I wear them all summer long, mine only need replacing every 3 years, they're the comfiest shoes I own - although I will admit they can rub a tiny bit the first couple of times you wear them after a long winter in boots.

Hush puppies. I haven't bought any other sandals for years. So comfortable:

Thanks everyone - have put a bid on a pair of sketchers on ebay - fingers crossed x

Oh and I have narrow feet too

MadeleineMaxwell · 15/04/2019 18:50

Birkies, definitely. They have a narrow fit too. I can feel the difference with the arch support and everything!

Bringbackbertha · 15/04/2019 18:51

You can try hotter as some have a suede bottom which are softer on the sole.

CurbsideProphet · 15/04/2019 18:54

I got some from Clarks last year that were really comfy and didn't hurt the balls of my feet Smile

Lemonysherbet · 15/04/2019 18:56

Havaianas Luna are my absolute faves! Flip flops with a back strap!

brizzlemint · 15/04/2019 18:58

I've never had a problem with any walking sandals but they aren't really nighttime wear. I'd have thought some of the fit flops would be OK though.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 15/04/2019 18:59

Birkinsticks - although I'm not so sure how they would fit narrow feet.

Fit-flop have a good outlet website where you can buy last years models and there is often a good choice. I like the ones with leather straps.

GooodMythicalMorning · 15/04/2019 19:03

Gumbies are great, but they're not nightwear. They're more comfort than dressy. Sooo comfy though.
