much better for all the nut jobs to get it out of the way early so that they can get to the pub

skirmish · 12/07/2007 08:03

what's an orange parade?

NaeDanger · 12/07/2007 08:05

i think you are being unreasonable to think that an orange 'parade' is OK at any time of the day.

skirmish....Orange Parade, is Protestant march, done on the 12th of July every year

Tis quite entertaining actually, there are now loads of different bands outside and they have fantastic costumes on. must have gone to a lot of trouble

would you still put a smiley face on if it was the KKK?

(hey I know! lets have a parade to celebrate killing catholics! YEAH!)

stoppinattwo · 12/07/2007 08:15

the smile was because I was explaining what the march was about, so as not to sound patronising. If you think Im smiling about what happened then thats your problem

ND

It is hardly SAT's fault.

It is ancient history that some people have problems letting go of. If they want to dress up like prats and show themselves up, then let them.

Personally I feel that Catholic areas in NI should put up huge banners with the words.

"Catholics of Northern Ireland. Welcome the Orange Order."

That would soon put a stop to some of the secterian nonsense that is present on both sides of the ridiculous divide.

Clayhead · 12/07/2007 08:16

They paraded in Liverpool at the weekend too. I had to walk past them to get to the museum and the atmosphere was not pleasant .

Clayhead · 12/07/2007 08:17

"Catholics of Northern Ireland. Welcome the Orange Order."

Fantastic idea!

skirmish · 12/07/2007 08:18

thanks stoppin - feel like a right thicko over here! and, fwiw - didn't come across as patronising at all!

stoppinattwo · 12/07/2007 08:18

Our family are all actually Roman Catholic.............I dont have a problem with the parade, as LGJ says it is history. My problem was the time at which it started.

OP posts:
stoppinattwo · 12/07/2007 08:19

Boredveryverybored · 12/07/2007 08:21

I'd be peed off with the parade stating so bloody early too! Whereabouts are you stoppin? I'm in L'pool too, no sign of marchers here.

stoppinattwo · 12/07/2007 08:22
