I don't concur. I agree. We've always agreed but now I can't get through a day without hearing 'I concur'. Why? How has this come about. Agree with me and banish concur to the nether regions of hell.

I’ve never heard it in my life, but my work colleague is 18 months so that’s probs why.

Sorry, I simply do not concur with your argument. It's a proper word, what's your problem with it?

I know it's a word. An archaic word in fact that usually just knocks around in parliamentary debate or court. Is that why its use is spreading? Because we're listening to more debate? I wouldn't say I have a problem with it, I just, just, personally, find it irritating and to me it sounds out of place in everyday speech.

I say this to DH and he does it back to me but it is sort of an in joke referencing Catch me if you can, the film with Leonardo DiCaprio.

We are really sad and often quote films to eachother in general conversation

Sap concur used to be concur technologies. Before that it was the portable software corp. it was started by two American Asian brothers in the early 1990s.

I've said it since the 90's. Started as an ironic "so clevvaahhhhh" thing to say and just kind of stuck itself into my vernacular.

I get why some words bother people, though for me, concur isn't one of them.

Some people just have a greater vocab range. Just because you have one word for something doesn't mean you can't have two. Unless its being used to deliberately obfuscate a discussion, it comes across as inverted snobbery to object to it.

There is a difference though I concur means that I have looked at the facts and come up with that opinion on my own (in legal terms as well it is often a written opinion). I agree means I have listened to what you have said and I have decided that I also think that as well

So Parliamentary debates will used it a lot because its them saying I had this opinion as well not that I have listened to you and you have made me have that opinion.

@VeganCow you realise it's a perfectly normal, proper word right? Not a made up or invented modern one. Totay you learnt a new word, surely that's good not bad
