AIBU to say I do not concur?

I don't concur. I agree. We've always agreed but now I can't get through a day without hearing 'I concur'. Why? How has this come about. Agree with me and banish concur to the nether regions of hell.

I had a line manager who used it all the time.... he thought it made him sound educated and erudite. In reality it made him sound like a pompous fool because he never used it in quite the right context. If you asked him if he was coming out for a drink he would say "I concur" rather than "yes, that sounds like a good idea"

We are trained to communicate complex ideas in simple language so it really jarred.

AIBU to say I do not concur?

It’s ok Sleeping, it also appeared that I can’t spell the word conversation!

I use concurrence fairly regularly. As in "for your review and concurrence" on documents at work 🤷‍♀️
Always makes me think of Catch Me If You Can Grin.
I don't find it particularly offensive.
