to be fuming about perfume?

“D” h bought me an expensive bottle of perfume for Christmas, very happy with it
I had bought two bottles of dup perfumes, about twenty pounds each which I also use a lot. My mil was here last week, and now the two dup perfumes are gone, I have spent ages hunting for them, but no sign, so clearly mil has taken them. Mentioned this to him, and he says, “ oh I told her she could have them , as you got perfume at Christmas “
I am fuming at him, and at her as neither of them thought to ask me if it was ok.
Am I being mean, taking into account she got perfume for her Christmas as well, although not an expensive one?

Just to add I might have given her one bottle, but certainly not both!

He's a fucking cheeky bastard. Either he gets your perfumes back from mil or he buys you two new bottles. They were not his property and he had no right to do that!

Give away something of his, or flog it on ebay and replace your perfume..

Errrr you’re allowed more than one bottle of perfume! Either pop round and just say oh sorry can I have my perfume back, DH was wrong to say you could have it / said you could have it by accident.
She would have to have a REALLY brass neck to not say “oh yes sure I’ll go and get them”.

Eh totally cheeky fucker, he needs to text her now and tell her he'll be round in the morning to collect them because upon reflection he has realised he's a cheeky bastard who has no right to give away other peoples property

I can’t get my head your DH giving them away but also MIL taking them! How did that conversation happen would she have asked for the perfumes?? Very weird of both of them.

How bloody odd. I have a lot of fragrance, couldn’t have just one.
He needs to replace them. I’d actually ask her if she saw them when she was over as you can’t find them and it’s driving you mad.

Not that it excuses your DH but did your MIL ask or did your DH randomly offer? Is he trying to tell you he didn’t like the dupe ones?

Perfume parlour-cheaper than 20 quid, you can get 4! Or should I say he'll be buying you 4. You'll need different ones to the ones mil now has.

I've got 3 bottles on the go too. I like to switch up my perfume day to day. It makes them all last longer.
