Did you see what I did there? 😉

Was on a similar thread a few weeks ago but it's disappeared. 🙄

So me and the OH has just finished Game of thrones.. LOVED IT!!
We also enjoyed....

The walking dead
Doctor who
Lost
Hero's
Misfits
Life on Mars
The 100

So can anyone maybe suggest something we can watch??

Also... would be helpful to include maybe a mini description as to what kinda theme or story it is?
Thank you so much!!

Bordertown
The killing
The break
Dark forest

The Harry quebert affair

stopitandtidyupp · 18/02/2019 19:07

Sorry all crime dramas

EwItsAHooman · 18/02/2019 19:09

Do you have Netflix? If so then watch The Umbrella Academy, it was released this week and is so good we binge watched the whole series in the space of two very late nights. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is good too and so is The Good Place.

Russian Doll is next on our list.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 18/02/2019 19:09

The good place! I feel me and my husband came to it late (which has its benefits when you can binge 3 seasons in one go).

Its about a women called Eleanor who finds herself in heaven when she should have gone to hell. You follow her as she makes friends, tries not to get found out and as she realises lots of very BIG secrets.

Am following in the hope of finding something else as light hearted and well written to watch I feel like I am mourning getting to the end of the third series.

Other great watches:
Brooklyn 99
Manifest

Notwiththeseknees · 18/02/2019 19:09

Dirty John on Netflix although the grandmother character is very annoying. The elder daughter Veronica is brilliant Grin

MessyMummy15 · 18/02/2019 19:11

Ooooh crime!! Okay gonna YouTube all those trailers!! 😍😍

They will appear with subtitles but netflix has done a great job of dubbing them.

Wavingwhiledrowning · 18/02/2019 19:12

Netflix: The Rain. A virus carried in rain wipes everyone out apart from a few. Set in Scandanavia. A slow burn, but quite dramatic, with a few unexpected twists and lots of different stories told at once. It's annoyingly dubbed though, so that let it down a bit - subtitles probably would have been better.

Netflix: Lost in Space. Humans try to colonise another planet. A family in a spaceship end up crashing off course, eventually find others and try to get back to the mothership. Sounds cheesy but was quite gripping.

Outlander. Bloody brilliant

AgnesNaismith · 18/02/2019 19:13

Russian Doll - it’s her 36th birthday party and things get a bit weird
Good girls - suburban wives turn criminal for various legitimate reasons
Vikings - violence, really hot men & gripping story
Jack Ryan - government agent drama stuff
Designated Survivor - something bad happens and an ill equipped person is appointed president (addictive show)
Unfortunately my favourite is House of Cards.....but, well, it’s got Kevin Spacey in it Confused

AgnesNaismith · 18/02/2019 19:15

@HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone have you seen Crazy ex-girlfriend? That’s what you need to watch next Wink

ValleyoftheHorses · 18/02/2019 19:16

DH and I are fed up of the state of the world so we’re re watching the West Wing. How politics should be!

EwItsAHooman · 18/02/2019 19:17

I forgot descriptions.

The Umbrella Academy - on the same day in 1989 a load of women around the world give birth, except none of them had been pregnant when the day began. A reclusive billionaire manages to buy/adopt seven of them and turns six of them into a superhero squad called The Umbrella Academy. They have a really messed up childhood and drift apart in adulthood until they're brought back together when their father dies.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina - reboot of the Sabrina the Teenage Witch story but darker and better.

The Good Place - already been explained.

Russian Doll - haven't watched it yet but it's about a woman who relives the day she dies over and over, every time she dies it restarts.

Sparklesocks · 18/02/2019 19:19

The Sinner on Netflix (series 1) is a great crime/mystery about a woman who stabs a stranger on the beach in front of her family with no idea why. It’s a great twisty/turny mystery as things become clearer.

There is a second series with a new story but it’s not as good.

True detective series 1 (nowtv) is another great detective drama, the acting is fab.

Breaking bad on Netflix - a science teacher who gets cancer uses his chemistry skills to make illegal drugs to pay for his treatment, and quickly learns the dark nature of the drug trade .

You (netflix) is trashy but addictive, a man stalks a woman and manipulates her into falling for him. It’s quite dark but interesting as it’s all from his POV.

PresentImperfect · 18/02/2019 19:21

Netflix: Rita, a Swedish drama about a dysfunctional school teacher. Funny and poignant. (Avoid Hjordis, a not so funny spin off).

Bonus family. Another Swedish drama about a blended family. funny and poignant again.

Love to see the cultural differences.

Friends from College, a US series about 6 friends from, you guessed it, college ( 20 years later).

DumbledoresArmy · 18/02/2019 19:24

Peaky Blinders of course!!

I enjoyed The Affair too.

BiglyBadgers · 18/02/2019 19:26

That sounds intriguing. I'll have to check it out. Grin

We are still waiting for Manifest to finish but I need some light hearted humour after watching each manifest episode, it's so bleak and miserable!! A great watch though and a very interesting concept.

MumW · 18/02/2019 19:37

Luther

BartonHollow · 18/02/2019 19:39

If you have Netflix

Dark
Travelers
Umbrella Academy
Russian Doll

showerpower · 18/02/2019 19:50
