I'm just posting here for traffic because I think it's important.

Please take a look at the thread in Site Stuff if you've noticed any suspicious activity on your account tonight.

Thanks.

Good idea worra

similarly (but probably not as problematic) has anyone had email alerts saying they are tagged in threads that they definitely aren’t tagged in (which happened to me)

WorraLiberty · 06/02/2019 23:15

Actually now you say that NeverTwerk I should probably check mine.

Bump

HankNPat · 07/02/2019 08:15

I bumped far too early this morning. So apologies for bumping again, but this problem seems to be even worse than first imagined.

picklemepopcorn · 07/02/2019 08:17

Going to see...

paxillin · 07/02/2019 08:26

I'm logged in under my own. It is terrifying and could have real consequences for vulnerable posters or those with a lot of personal details on their profile. You are remarkably calm, @WorraLiberty.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 07/02/2019 08:27

@NeverTwerkNaked I keep getting that too - constant notifications for people who are not me!

picklemepopcorn · 07/02/2019 08:57

It's not affected me directly, but I'll keep commenting because people need to know, especially those in a vulnerable situation.

Well there's nothing we can really do about it except report, paxillin.

I'm surprised MNHQ haven't closed the site while it's being looked into though.

Is this another "DarrenTech isnt here today and there's been a slight problem that we haven't got a clue how to solve because the roll of sellotape won't stretch over the black hole of security leaks?"

Glad I only talk about books and perfume these days.

magimedi · 07/02/2019 09:13

I am amazed how lightly MNHQ are taking this whole debacle.

WorraLiberty · 07/02/2019 09:15

Justine has just said on the Site Stuff thread that they've reversed a change brought in last Tuesday, and hopefully that'll sort it out.

BBInGinDrinking · 07/02/2019 09:37

I would advise everyone to look at the thread in Site Stuff, linked by Worra in the OP.

This is not just a data breach, it's a breach of trust, particularly concerning our more vulnerable posters, given the length of time it's been allowed to continue by MNHQ - potentially Tuesday night to just now this morning.

WorraLiberty · 07/02/2019 09:41

I think everyone should delete their inboxes, whether they think they've been affected or not.

OP posts:
magimedi · 07/02/2019 09:46

Have just done that, Worra. Couldn't believe how far back it went.

WorraLiberty · 07/02/2019 09:52

I don't use mine much magimedi but I think I had a clear out just before Christmas.

OP posts:
HankNPat · 07/02/2019 09:53

Me too, magi! I recall that MNHQ deleted all PMs a few (?) years ago following another data breach, but hadn't realised quite how far back it went.

Did both In and Sent boxes though - deleted the lot today.

Cookmysock1 · 07/02/2019 10:10

I was logged out for some reason and had to log back in again, this has never happened before, I'm always automatically logged in, it is to my own account though

Ferfeckssake · 07/02/2019 10:16

Me too cookmysock1.And I was in the .middle of trying to post a lengthy reply ! Any idea how I can retrieve it ? And can any one tell me how I can " save" my post as I am writing it?

Tissunnyupnorth · 07/02/2019 10:21

I was logged out unexpectedly. Had to log in again.

kungfupannda · 07/02/2019 10:22

That might explain why I was logged out this morning. Took me ages to track down my password.
