I'm just posting here for traffic because I think it's important.

Please take a look at the thread in Site Stuff if you've noticed any suspicious activity on your account tonight.

Thanks.

I was logged out for some reason and had to log back in again, this has never happened before, I'm always automatically logged in, it is to my own account though

Same here.

Off now to read the thread linked above.

Bumping so that people who don't check Site Stuff are made aware of this serious issue.

magoria · 07/02/2019 10:52

I was logged out too. Thought is was strange. Thanks for the link I am off to read.

I can't believe MNHQ haven't made this clearer.

Especially on the back of the thread raising concerns about the site's usability.

Frangipane · 07/02/2019 11:00

I did once, a few months ago, get a notification that I had been tagged in a post, but when I looked, the poster had a shortened version of my username (not this one, but think Frang rather than Frangipane). Is that the sort of thing?

badlydrawnperson · 07/02/2019 11:09

DarrenTech isnt here today and there's been a slight problem that we haven't got a clue how to solve because the roll of sellotape won't stretch over the black hole of security leaks?

Ha ha - that pretty much perfectly sums up the discussions I had with MN during the last security breech.

They even tried to tell me they had redefined Phishing as something that happens where your credentials are handed to a hacker due their really lax security.

To be clear - MN (In my humble opinion) has no idea about the internet and security but thinks they do.

There is now a sticky thread at the top of AIBU about this from Justine MNHQ which everyone needs to read.
