I ordered 2 parcels from ASOS.
Both parcels of items around £300 total.
Unfortunately none of the items are suitable and checked inside the parcels and they've forgot to include a returns note in both.
They tell me I need to print a new one out but I have no printer and nobody I know has a printer.
They tell me to go to the library and print them (I live in a small village and it's around a 40 min drive)
I ask can they post one out and they refuse.
I say if I pay postage for the parcels can I write a returns note out and say which items I'm returning and why ..they say no I will have to print it.
Aibu to think this is shit?

JaiNotJay · 05/02/2019 19:48

That is indeed shit. I don't know many people with a printer at home these days.

TulipsInbloom1 · 05/02/2019 19:50

Do you have any friends who have access to a printer at home or work?

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 05/02/2019 19:50

Odd that you can’t write it out if you are willing to pay postage. Tbh I print mine at work and have printed ones for friends too

GoGoGadgetGin · 05/02/2019 19:52

Could you do one of those photo print things at boots/supermarket/online? As in take a screenshot of it and print as a photo? I did that for a Groupon thing once when I'd lost the print out of email- so nipped into boots and photo printed it!

Buster72 · 05/02/2019 19:53

Hand write it with a covering letter. They can't override your statutory rights if an item is unsuitable

pippytre · 05/02/2019 19:53

I'm gonna have to just go to library.
We live in the middle of nowhere.
The closest is Tesco and that's about 15 ish mins away but it doesn't have a photo place inside.
My friends are retail /care assistants so no printers.
Such a pain.

OP posts:
pippytre · 05/02/2019 19:54

I was going to hand write it exactly like the one they normally send but apparently it wouldn't be accepted ..no idea why.

AnnieOH1 · 05/02/2019 19:55

Could you ask a neighbour?

GoGoGadgetGin · 05/02/2019 20:23

Have you been on Twitter to ask?

MuddyMoose · 05/02/2019 20:26

Definitely a bit shit on their behalf especially when it was their error.

Just a side note - most retail places will have a printer (for orders etc) so may be worth asking the friends in retail work.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 05/02/2019 20:27

Do you work, most employers have printers?

TulipsInbloom1 · 05/02/2019 20:35

I used to work in a hotel and have printed the odd document off for locals (not hotel residents). Is there a hotel nearby?

SeaViewBliss · 05/02/2019 20:37

I’d get on Twitter. Companies don’t like public complaints so often resolve them quickly.

TheBrilloPad · 05/02/2019 20:40

OP, if you don't mind sharing your address with a random stranger, PM me and I'll give you my email address, you can email me the returns note, I'll print it out and stick it in the post first class tomorrow to you.

pippytre · 05/02/2019 20:45

Thanks everyone my friend is a cleaner at premier inn ..she's gonna ask if she can print them for me.
What a faff

OP posts:
RubertRoo · 05/02/2019 20:46

They did similar to me. They included a returns form but it was printed upside down so I couldn't use the returns form as it was printed across their headers and footers and was told they couldn't send me one out even though it was their mistake an had to print my own. it's such an inconvenience finding a printer

ABigBraclet · 05/02/2019 20:48

Lovely gesture TheBrilloPad

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 05/02/2019 20:50

That’s ridiculous. I’ve never had that with ASOS and I order all the time. Maybe it’s going downhill

pippytre · 05/02/2019 20:52

@TheBrilloPad yes Thankyou so much
It's refreshing how many nice people are still in this world Thanks
My friend is going to try and print it but Thankyou very much for your offer x

pippytre · 05/02/2019 20:52

@RubertRoo it's so stupid isn't it.
I tried saying that the reason I ordered online was to save going into town.

MammaMia19 · 05/02/2019 21:00

Asos have the very worst customer service. I won't use them anymore after a refund never reached my card and they wouldn't sort it out. They are very much "computer says no" and they don't even read emails properly. I really sympathise!

Pinkbells · 05/02/2019 21:01

Send the email link to a friend to print it and post it to you

Ellie56 · 05/02/2019 21:01

They are being totally unreasonable. This is their mistake. They should sort it.I wouldn't bother ordering from there again. And I would tell them so too! Angry

FortunesFave · 05/02/2019 21:05

YANBU. These days this stuff should be automated. You should be able to fill in a returns form online and send that. They can easily check things via numbers etc.

Magenta46 · 05/02/2019 21:11

Shop local. This is what happens when you shop online . A reason why high street retailers are closing. there is a moral to this story
