How much is too much

When it comes to jewellery??

I wear loads and just got more bracelets today.

DH commented ‘you’ve gone over jewellery how I am with tattoos!’

Is it too much?

Only posted an image of my bracelets because I don’t want to out myself showing all my jewels that I wear everyday...

But most days I wear:

  • earrings (more than one pair)
  • nose rings
  • 4 necklaces
  • 5 rings (want to get more)
  • 10 bracelets (maybe get more)
  • 1 anklet (want to get more)
  • 6 toe rings

I take it you are neither a nurse or a ninja?

My toe rings are very very comfortable.

They aren’t the adjustable type, they are ‘fixed’ rings, just like finger rings but tiny and fit quite closely.
I think if they were too big they would probably pinch in shoes.

But mine fit pretty close, copious amounts of moisturiser are required to try and get them on and off..

Oops DS - just accidentally changed his sex...

For me yes. For you no. The receptionist at my Drs wears a ring (at least one) on each finger - gold sovs etc - necklaces in abundance. She's pushing 50 and she looks the business.
.
Not my style but she wears it well. She is also THE BEST Drs receptionist in the whole world.

Four bracelets on each arm, plus my fitbit, 3 earrings in each ear, only 2 today, 3 rings.
You wear as many bracelets as You like OP.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 04/02/2019 16:45

and another one on the middle finger of my middle hand Confused

Think how many bracelets OP could wear if she too had a "middle" hand!

OP, you sound a bit like my sister except her several necklaces just look like a five year old has raided Mummy's jewellery box and put them all on. They're all too different to work together. Your bracelets look well together.

Corrag · 04/02/2019 16:50

To each their own OP, if you're happy with the jewellery you wear don't let anyone make you doubt yourself.

Personally I prefer to wear no more than one of each item. When people wear multiple necklaces, bracelets etc I always think the individual items get lost. I can't see how nice a necklace is if it's tangled up with 2 or 3 others.

I work with jewellery (antique, vintage and modern) and each day I wear:
Engagement and eternity rings (left hand)
Pinky ring (left hand)
Two dress rings (right hand)
Gold bracelet and Fitbit and gold watch (left hand)
Silver bracelet (right hand)
Pair of diamond or pearl ear studs
Simple gold pendant on chain

I might wear diff earrings to match another necklace if I wear certain things

And I usually have a brooch

I'm basically a wannabe Liz Taylor /HM the Queen!

claracluck78 · 04/02/2019 16:56

But my choice of brooches differs enormously day-day from Georgian mourning to Victorian novelty to modern Scandinavian design!

It sounds like your dh made a valid comment, Doggydoggydoggy - maybe you are a bit addicted to jewellery! How much is too much is in the eye of the beholder, although I do tend to think lots of necklaces detracts from the appeal of all the necklaces - I would rather see one lovely necklace at a time. Tbh, though, having seen some gruesome injuries in people from getting their jewellery caught in something (including a finger ripped off), I went right off wearing large amounts of jewellery myself!

Btw, I love your bracelets - very pretty.

OutPinked · 04/02/2019 17:16

Honestly you can wear what you want. I’ve never personally been able to wear any jewellery because it pisses me off, I hate having anything stuck to me.

Bloo22 · 04/02/2019 17:22

I don’t wear much jewellery, but it doesn’t look good on me. It might look good on you, and as long as you’re happy who cares
