I have no idea if I'm imagining things but I'm panicked.

DS is almost 2. He hasn't been sleeping properly for a week, he's knackered, has had a cold/bad chest and I think has been teething.

For the past 15 minutes he's been looking a bit drowsy, has slightly purple cheeks, and has been going through about 30 sec phases on and off where he's shaking and breathing faster.

Do I ring 999?

How is he now?

BeanTownNancy · 31/01/2019 14:07

@NameChangeShame2
We're OK - got some antibiotics, paracetamol and ibuprofen for a chest infection. Keeping an eye on it, but he's got good O2 sat so fingers crossed we got it early and that will be enough. :)

Fingers crossed for OP!

I had an ambulance out for my LO last night because I could wake him to do the assessment 111 wanted to carry out (I did explain he was absolutely knackered and really unwell. We went to A&E and my little nugget has Croup xx

Hope all is well OP ThanksThanksThanks

ApolloandDaphne · 31/01/2019 14:11

I do hope he is okay. Sending you Thanks

erja · 31/01/2019 15:20

Thanks everyone who gave advice. Still at A&E. Appears it was small convulsions from an infection he's having, just waiting on news now and to try and find out about it!

OP posts:
TopBitchoftheWitches · 31/01/2019 15:21

Oh op Flowers hope your lo is on the mend soon.

LittleSwede · 31/01/2019 15:42

Hope you don't have to wait too long for news, at least you are in the right place and he is bring monitored and looked after. If it is infection he should improve quickly once on antibiotics.

We had DD bluelighted to hospital once after I took her to the GP with very high temp and cough. Turned out to be a UTI and within 24 hours if antibiotics she was beginning to feel better. It is so scary when they are so I'll. If you can make sure you have plenty to drink and a snack too. I always end up dehydrated in hospital as forget to look after myself whilst worrying about DD.

ReaganSomerset · 31/01/2019 15:44

Hope everything is OK, OP. You did well to trust your instincts.

UninspiringUserName · 31/01/2019 15:44

Erja, your poor little mite. Hope that he's sorted quickly and feels brighter soon. At least you're in the right place and being seen.
