To ask your favourite sleeping position?

I know IANBU, I'm just being nosy. Would like to see the most popular sleeping position because my DP tells me I sleep weird but I think he does. Or are we both strange sleepers?!

I sleep with my pillows crossed into an upside down 'L' shape. I sleep on the long part of the L, on my right side with the duvet right up to my chin, my bottom arm under the pillow and with my top arm I press the heel of my hand onto the bridge of my nose, my palm pushed against my forehead and my fingers over the top of my head. It must be completely silent and pitch black.

He sleeps flat on his back with no pillow and no duvet. If I let him he would have both windows wide open, the lamp on and the bedroom door open.

How do you all sleep?

On either side with one arm outstretched under the pillow and the other brought up over my head so the upper part of my arm is over my ear so that I can't hear anything. The leg that's on the mattress is out straight but the other leg is brought up so that my knee is near my boobs. It's so comfortable but DP says it looks so uncomfortable. I also wear earplugs but have to have everything dark and silent.

GobblersKnob · 06/01/2019 15:19

Weirdly very similarly to DragginBallsEEEE but with both hands tucked under my chin, but same leg arrangements.

IchWill · 06/01/2019 23:21

On my stomach, mu face to one side, with one leg drawn up. Not the best sleeping position for a bad back, but I couldn't sleep flat on my back if I tried.

I also have a desk fan on my bedside table that's on a year round. Which is understand some people find odd. Grin

Gotstuckwiththisname · 06/01/2019 23:40

Left side, left arm under pillow, right leg pulled right up.

Has to be pitch black and silent. No open windows.

Truckingonandon · 06/01/2019 23:41

A bit like the recovery position. Window open 99% of the time. Pitch black and recently started randomly leaving the door open too. Pj top and undies. Can't STAND pj bottoms on that ride up your legs in the night. 2 pillows, silk pillowcase, high thread count bedding and a nice rustly duvet. Enough detail op?!!! 😁

JaiNotJay · 06/01/2019 23:44

I sleep on my stomach, legs straight, head to one side with the duvet up around my ears. I can sleep with lights on but it needs to be totally silent.

SluggishSnail · 06/01/2019 23:45

Agree with PP, that sort of thing at least. Definitely not cuddled up to DH, or spooning, ideally no physical contact at all. Better still if he sleeps somewhere else and I have the bed to myself.

SneakyGremlins · 06/01/2019 23:46

Curled up like an embryo with the bottom of the duvet tucked under my legs to make like a burrito!

DarcieStarlight · 06/01/2019 23:46

@Truckingonandon perfect amount of detail Grin although I could not stand to use a silk pillowcase, I get very sweaty through the night so I'd be stuck to it!

Ollivander84 · 06/01/2019 23:48

Has to be dark and quiet
On my right side, right arm outstretched, left arm not, hugging a pillow. Another pillow in between knees
Used to sleep on my front but can't since spinal op Sad

RickOShay · 06/01/2019 23:52

On my stomach head turned left with both hands flat under the pillow. Duvet securely tucked round me. Lights off, but landing light on and door open.
Dh is a consummate duvet hogger though and we have nightly duvet battles
He sleeps snoring on his back.

Truckingonandon · 06/01/2019 23:58

Rick - get 2 duvets and have 1 each.

Silk pillowcase doesn't get sticky. Are you thinking of satin fabric?

PlaymobilPirate · 06/01/2019 23:58

I don't have a position! I just lie down, shut my eyes and I'm away. I want a position now!

UhUhUhDennis · 07/01/2019 00:01

Wtf you all sleep weird 😂 if it works for you though then it's not weird

EBearhug · 07/01/2019 00:03

Window open unless it's heavy snow outside, but might wear a nightshirt sometimes in winter. On my side like the recovery position, but cuddling up to a bolster pillow (I'm single), and a pillow under my head. Usually have two other pillows against my back in case I turn over and want to snuggle a pillow that side. Don't usually turn over unless I'm having a patch of insomnia.

Drogosnextwife · 07/01/2019 00:04

I sleep life your dh, very flat pillow though and I need to be covered right up to my chin. I do love onto my side sometimes through the night.

HirooOnoda · 07/01/2019 00:04

@SluggishSnail I congratulate you on your happy and loving marriage Grin

Unless I am really short of sleep, which will happen occasionally, I like my OH close by but I am but an old romatic

Drogosnextwife · 07/01/2019 00:05

Like, not life 🙄

amy85 · 07/01/2019 00:08

On my stomach one leg straight the other bent up pretty much level with my chest one arm under my pillow and the other is next to my pillow

NewYoiker · 07/01/2019 00:08

Left arm under my head on the pillow, right arm under the pillow left leg straight right leg bet whilst on my tummy it's so comfy

penguingirl · 07/01/2019 00:09

Foetal position with one leg slightly lower so pressure areas not together. Hair all pushed back away from face. Cats curled up in front of my belly. Cuddly toy above cats to rest top arm on Blush OH likes to flail around and end up diagonal, with hair over his face Confused

Nnnnnineteen · 07/01/2019 00:10

On my back, with knees up and arms crossed over my head - (if I had biceps,) one covers each ear and my forearms cross over the top of my head. Duvet tucked under my left side.

ILoveChristmasLights · 07/01/2019 00:10

I don't have a position! I just lie down, shut my eyes and I'm away

Bitch.

😂🤣

I’d KILL to do that. I’m an insomniac. Sleep is for other people apparently.

When I do sleep it’s either spooning or on my stomach with either hand under my pillow and the opposite leg drawn up. Then swip swap all fecking night.

Op. I do that thing with my other hand sometimes too. I could sleep like you but not like your DH. I literally cannot sleep on my back

CrossedToTheDarkSide · 07/01/2019 00:12

Always on my side, I always start being the big spoon with my left leg hooked over DH’s leg and my arm over him and my face pressed into his back. He can sleep any which way but i’ve been a fairly bad sleeper since late teens and honestly this is the one position which is 99% guaranteed to get me to sleep first time every time. Luckily he doesn’t mind me being a limpet. Blush If I am being particularly slow to get to sleep/ put the light out I will find him in bed waiting for me laying flat on his back with his hands crossed on his chest looking like a dead person in a coffin!! It freaks me right out but I think it’s because he’s fallen asleep waiting for me to get in and get comfy so he hasn’t rolled into the usual position yet!! Hmm
