To ask your favourite sleeping position?

I know IANBU, I'm just being nosy. Would like to see the most popular sleeping position because my DP tells me I sleep weird but I think he does. Or are we both strange sleepers?!

I sleep with my pillows crossed into an upside down 'L' shape. I sleep on the long part of the L, on my right side with the duvet right up to my chin, my bottom arm under the pillow and with my top arm I press the heel of my hand onto the bridge of my nose, my palm pushed against my forehead and my fingers over the top of my head. It must be completely silent and pitch black.

He sleeps flat on his back with no pillow and no duvet. If I let him he would have both windows wide open, the lamp on and the bedroom door open.

How do you all sleep?

In a hammock...
On a beach...
In the Caribbean
Failing that, anywhere I can't hear my snoring, twitching, mumbling, farting husband. Position ranges from starfished with one leg up the back of the sofa to curled up like a startled limpet with a duvet wrapped round tightly instead of a shell..

DP works constant nightshift.
If he is at work I take up the whole bed. I dont know how I do that as I am quite smallish.
If he is on a night off and in bed he sleeps flat on his back and I sleep on my side cuddled into him taking up very little space on the bed.
It is good to have the whole bed to myself but even better to have the beloved next to me

Interesting thread! Mine varies. If I have tummy troubles, I lie on my left side with my knees up to help with deflating! Other times I lie on my right side or on my back but very rarely lie on my stomach as it hurts my neck. I like one pillow & a duvet that’s not too weighty & the room has to be dark. DH & I connect before we sleep but then we keep to our own side of the bed. I think he’s mean when he won’t let me warm my cold feet on him! He’s like a furnace!

@Truckingonandon you are absolutely right I was thinking satin 🤮

@CrossedToTheDarkSide that really made me laugh out loud, your DP with his arms crossed over his chest like he's in a coffin 😂

On either side with the top leg bent up towards my stomach and the underneath leg straight. My hands are in a weird tangled mess kind of position below my chin on my chest usually. Drives my DP mad how my legs take up so much room at all sort of angles Grin also have to sleep with a fan on 365 days a year with my iPad playing outnumbered while I fall asleep

Brazenhussy0 · 07/01/2019 00:30

On either side with one arm outstretched under the pillow and the other brought up over my head so the upper part of my arm is over my ear so that I can't hear anything. The leg that's on the mattress is out straight but the other leg is brought up so that my knee is near my boobs

This is exactly how I sleep. It’s the comfiest position.

Uncomfortably!

I'm a life-long stomach sleeper but now I'm 5 months pregnant, I have to try to sleep on my side and I'm soooooooo miserable about it. I do sleep on my elbows too and had to switch to a memory foam mattress because I gave myself ulnar nerve damage. 🤣

BeanTownNancy · 07/01/2019 00:32

Oh, and I can't sleep without a large teddy bear tucked under my chin that I can hug. I will compromise on using a pillow if no bear is available.

whiteblankpage · 07/01/2019 00:35

On my left side, head on DH’s chest, arm across his abdomen. He’s a really cuddly sleeper, took my yonks to get used to it and now it’s a failsafe.
Doesn’t have to be dark or quiet, I just need to close my eyes. At some point in the night i roll on the other side I think when I get too hot.

GlitterStick · 07/01/2019 00:53

Sleeping facing right with my knee up towards me kind of recovery position.
Other foot kind of snuggled up over DH's, all lovely. Anything more would turn into the hug and roll from Friends - it starts off lovely but you'll be dumping them on the floor after a while and you wanna sleep Grin

The star fish

Triskaidekaphilia · 07/01/2019 01:09

On my side, knees bent- anywhere between slight bend and foetal position, two pillows stacked normally, head right in the middle of pillows, duvet pulled up to my chin. I find it really hard to sleep when its hot because i need the weight of the duvet on my whole body and the duvet to hold onto. Usually on my left side because I can grip the duvet better as I'm on left of bed, but usually flip for some of the night. Also now I'm pregnant, left side helps with horrendous trapped wind!

On my back and rarely move
