Seeking inspiration here for 2019.x

I've been thinking about this. I hate the way marketing and advertising people have jumped on the idea but I like it otherwise. I'm thinking it means happy, relaxed and satisfied. As much as possible.

WontonSoupForTheSoul · 04/01/2019 20:46

To me, it means people on Instagram take themselves far too seriously.

ginyogarepeat · 04/01/2019 20:58

Means fuck all to me. Just another social media spouted piece of shite for narcissistic fools Wink

GhostSauce · 04/01/2019 21:02

Every time someone in my FB or Insta posts one of these vom-inducing memes with a scenic backdrop I block/unfollow.

Allow with most of the hashtags i.e making memories, blessed, goals, bff, hubby, bubba....

Get in the bin (the phrase, not you).

crivit · 04/01/2019 21:10

For me living my best life involves eating cheesecake.

BentNeckLady · 04/01/2019 21:10

It is a great way of identifying people I wish to remove from my life.

brizzledrizzle · 04/01/2019 21:10

It means 'pass the sick bucket'

Seriously, having a good balance between the different parts of your life and not being bogged down by being too materialistic.

XmasPostmanBos · 04/01/2019 21:11

I'm on the sofa with my dog, eating a post-Christmas mince pie and watching Jamie and Jimmy. As good as it gets baby!

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 04/01/2019 21:11

I blame Oprah for all this bollocks

InspectorIkmen · 04/01/2019 21:13

I’m with crivit 😂 If I was to use this ridiculous soundbite it would mean endless cheesecake, fine brandy, fags, double cream, sleep, sex and holidays.
So no - I won’t be using it or giving it headspace 😂

Ontopofthesunset · 04/01/2019 21:13

It's meaningless, isn't it? Surely by definition whatever life you are living is simultaneously your best and your worst, as it is your only life.

It seems to me to be a kind of social media brag that basically means you are trying to enjoy your life as much as possible (and therefore post about all the great things you're doing with 'this one' or 'that one though' and all the memories you're making, instead of presumably living the kind of humdrum monotonous life you would otherwise be living).

Beechview · 04/01/2019 21:14

To me, it means doing things that make me happy, going out and achieving things.

Ethel80 · 04/01/2019 21:14

Something sarcastic I use when I've done something stupid or eaten half a tub of quality street. Never used seriously.

FeelSomething · 04/01/2019 21:16

If you say that.. you're a dick

IndianaMoleWoman · 04/01/2019 21:16

It means being the best you can be and looking after yourself.

Ironically, it is only used by people who are the absolute worst.

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/01/2019 21:17

One of the couple is having an affair, they screech at their children at least once a day and mainly entertain them with screens.

They then make up some fake FB/Instagram stuff.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 04/01/2019 21:17

It means you're on Instagram and need to fill your "little squares" with something.

CallMeSirShotsFired · 04/01/2019 21:18

What I interpret it to mean for me is to stop emotionally kicking seven shades of shit out of myself for every thing I do that isn't 110% perfect (deliberate usage of 110 as I hold myself to some unattainable standard for just about everything!)

It means that I have to do my best to live with myself in the body I've got and the brains I have. And then be content with that.

It's a significant work in progress...

Mokepon · 04/01/2019 21:19

I involuntarily vomit a little when I hear this.
What I think is if you are living your best life do it more fucking quietly.
Fakey McFakesters.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 04/01/2019 21:20

If someone 'quotes' this it means normal living but some twat on social media feels the need to big up their mundane lives ie shitty bragging.

Living your best life eh? As opposed living your shit life? Fuck off!

GhostSauce · 04/01/2019 21:20

🤮🤮🤮

"Living your best Life" What does that mean to you?
AdultHumanFemale · 04/01/2019 21:21

I've no idea of the provenance of the phrase, but I get the gist. In the way I most recently saw it used, someone was trying to justify making some environmentally unwise decisions because they were more interested in 'living their best life'. Gak...
In my book, living my best life involves at least trying to do as little harm as possible.

Birdsgottafly · 04/01/2019 21:21

I haven't been living my best life because I'm obese and I don't like myself. I don't like my decreased level of fitness. On the plus side, it means I'm getting better, because I've been too ill to care about anything.

So living my best life would be at the peak of fitness. Dating again, not a relationship, just dating. Enjoying my garden, Grandchildren and going on occasional trips. Having a holiday planned.
