It makes me cringe. Ditto #MakingMemories.

2ducks2ducklings · 04/01/2019 21:24

To me it brings on an irrational pang of anxiety that I'm not doing everything i should be doing to ensure I'm making the most out of my life. Like, if me, my husband and the kids have a pj day in front of the tv eating nothing but crap all day, we'll be enjoying ourselves. However a second on Facebook and someone else has taken their kids on a 12 mile hike, where they all laugh and smile the entire way and non one moaned about being tired/cold/ hungry and caption it #livingmybestlife, and I'm instantly stressed that I've wasted a precious day of all of our lives, glued to crappy tv.

Sometimes when my dog has had a pig out and is fast asleep on the settee in the sun, fat belly in the air, I think he is living his best life. I would never hashtag it and stick it on insta and I would definitely never say it about myself even if I’ve pigged out and am sleeping in the sun, fat belly in the air!

HowlsMovingBungalow · 04/01/2019 21:24

Oh and while we are bashing these types that use these vomit inducing 'mottos' ...

'#famalam' can get in the fucking sea too.

Elfinablender · 04/01/2019 21:24

My best life? Criminal mastermind extraordinaire. Just as well I'm lazy, really.

TeachesOfPeaches · 04/01/2019 21:25

You missed the hashtag OP

E20mom · 04/01/2019 21:29

It means self important Instagrammers to me

GhostSauce · 04/01/2019 21:34

I do like #unspirational on insta, pretty much all anti-memes.

"Living your best Life" What does that mean to you?
GhostSauce · 04/01/2019 21:36

"Living your best Life" What does that mean to you?
Mokepon · 04/01/2019 21:40

I saw those on another thread Ghostsauce and woke my child up crying with laughter.

Prob an over reaction but it fills me with bleak despair about the future of the human race.

dangerrabbit · 04/01/2019 21:52

Getting involved in a MLM scheme or better still, starting one of your own

MadisonAvenue · 04/01/2019 21:55

It makes me want to reply with #ohdofuckoffdear

curlykaren · 04/01/2019 21:55

Urggh, I've only ever heard it said ironically, absolutely no one I know would say it with intent. When I've read the phrase I'm usually a little sick in my mouth. Too twee for real life!

MutantDisco · 04/01/2019 22:02

It's something my cousin personality disorder posts on social media

Crunched · 04/01/2019 22:03

endless cheesecake, fine brandy, fags, double cream, sleep, sex and holidays.
without gaining an ounce,..
Yep, #imdoingit not

SandAndSea · 04/01/2019 23:19

What I think is if you are living your best life do it more fucking quietly.

^^ LOVE this! GrinGrinGrin

Auntiepatricia · 04/01/2019 23:20

It’s an awful awful phrase.

But I see an innocence in it. Like it’s meant to mean the kind of simple happiness in life that you only get when everything is going just right.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 04/01/2019 23:22

For me it means things are so great, they can’t possibly get any better! Apart from maybe a lottery win.

confusedandemployed · 04/01/2019 23:22

Means a great big pile of steaming horseshit to me.

Who in their right mind would be living their mediocre life out of choice?

We all live the life we have. Sometimes shit, sometimes epic, mostly average.
