Im getting a costco card through my work and im beyond excited Grin. Im really looking forward to seeing what its all about. Ive been to makro many times in the past. Told my gran i was getting a card and she said oh costco is way better than makro.
What are the things to look out for and what should i stock up on?

Chocolate fudge cake is all you need.
I’d you like a brand and have storage then it’s worth it too.

Skybooks · 29/12/2018 21:18

Oh I went today, I always stock up on meat, drinks, rice/pasta /cereal is a good deal.

Also house hold items are always worth a look too...

Seconding the chocolate fudge cake. I love the pizza from the takeaway bit at the end too.

TheGonnagle · 29/12/2018 21:23

Ooh, I love a Costco thread!
Rule number one, eat before you go to combat stupid purchase syndrome.
Must buys..
Danish pastries/croissants
Parma ham
Chorizo sausages
Coastal cheddar
Fresh pasta
Their beef is lovely
Dishwasher tablets, Kirkland brand. Brilliant.

Ooh that is exciting. I haven't been to Costco in years but used to love it.

Anything that is their own brand 'kirkland' used to be really top notch quality and the meat they sell is fantastic.

SundayShawl · 29/12/2018 21:25

Their mac & cheese bake is awesome, especially with some chilli pork belly strips.

Nicknamesalltaken · 29/12/2018 21:26

The box of chocolate brownie mix. Best ever.

Notageek · 29/12/2018 21:27

Kirkland kitchen roll - massive sheets and doesn’t disintegrate
Loo roll
Meat
Cookies

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 29/12/2018 21:28

We love their dishwasher powder and cakes.

Just note that they don’t accept credit card. Only debit card or American Express.

Togaandsandals · 29/12/2018 21:29

Their sandwich platters for hosting are great, v good value.

Unihorn · 29/12/2018 21:30

Shortbread, Ghirardelli brownie mix, instant teriyaki pot noodle type things, duck spring rolls, ALL OF THE BOOKS, petrol if yours does it, random £5000 Wendy houses that pop up in the summer, giant hideous Christmas decorations...

God I love that place.

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 29/12/2018 21:31

I want a card.... My precious... I can find no reason why they should give me one though.

CandyCreeper · 29/12/2018 21:33

makro is rubbish.

poppy2021 · 29/12/2018 21:33

I'm just back from Costco, our turkey was from there this year. Lovely 😁
Meats
Chicken
Cake
Own brand Prosecco
Toilet rolls
Washing powder
Basmati rice
Muffins
Lasagne enchiladas
And loads more.

LittleCandle · 29/12/2018 21:33

Petrol! I reckon I am saving at least £5 per tank when filling up there. I got one recently via work and we got a great deal on the coffee we drink and an industrial sized box of puppy pads.

Nicknamesalltaken · 29/12/2018 21:33

Chocolate chip shortbread
Cookies

macaroniandpizza · 29/12/2018 21:35

Love Costco!

Kirkland own brand stuff is good quality.

The fresh 'ready meals' are lovely. The cottage pie, the burritos (very spicy!), the steak pie, the salads.

The Kirkland organic marinara sauce...3 pack in glass jars.

Some of the toiletries....sure deodorant is good value, as is some of the moisturiser.

Magazines are cheaper than on the high st.

Ray ban sunglasses are very reasonable.

I spend far too much time and money in Costco!

macaroniandpizza · 29/12/2018 21:38

poppy my neighbour gave me some of the muffins to try and they were amazing. Im getting another rescue dog after new year so will stock up on puppy pads too

Chimchar · 29/12/2018 21:39

Oops. Enchiladas not burritos. (What's the difference?! Blush)

animallikeyou · 29/12/2018 21:39

Oh man, I’m so jealous!

I might need to get a membership again.

justwantanopinion · 29/12/2018 21:40

Cookies and the chocolate chip shortbread!
Croissants. Chicken tenders. Kids pyjamas.

macaroniandpizza · 29/12/2018 21:40

If kirkland dog biscuits are good i may look to see if they are cheaper than millies wolfheart and swap but they would need to be very good for me to do so
