To not understand why the 'Fat Controller' is still called the 'Fat Controller'?

It's cringeworthy, and, tbh, he's not even THAT fat? Wtf, how is this still OK these days??

This thread has reminded me of this old Ernest the Engine sketch about the Fat Controller.

The reason why he is fat, is because all his employees are paid a pittence and have to eat lots of veggies. While he eats fattening, rich food imported at great cost.

For years as a kid I thought he was the Fact Controller.

Oo I'm just pleased as punch to say that in the original stories he's called the Fat Director!

In the original books he's the Fat Comptroller. I never knew how to pronounce it.
