I’m clearly not.
Currently squished in bed with DD who has been puking and desperately hoping my other LO doesn’t get it too. Or the rest of us for that matter.

Definitely an argument for kids to break up earlier so they can get all the germ-sharing well out of the way before Christmas.

Just wanted to have a moan while I lay here wide awake, hanging off the edge of the bed, staring at the ceiling.

Fucks sake.

Aw mate that sounds fucking horrible.
Snuggle!

frankie001 · 21/12/2018 04:09

You have my sympathy. I’ve had it myself and has taken me 6 days to feel better and ready to even think about food. Hope you don’t get it, good hand hygiene will help!

Curlywurly1975 · 21/12/2018 04:13

Oh @frankie001, 6 days!!! That’s shit!!
I just don’t want it to ruin Christmas for the kids - or anyone else - but mainly them. As it is, we won’t be having the Christmassy day out I’d planned today...

If it’s any consolation (and you are DEFINITELY NOT unreasonable) we had it a few weeks ago and four of us did indeed get it but all within a few days so first one was 8pm Thursday to start and last was done by 10am Sunday- so even IF you all get it you could be well again by Xmas. Ours was a very-nasty-for-4 hour bug

Conseulabananahammock · 21/12/2018 04:18

Ahhh feel your pain. Currently on the sofa with my 4 year old daughter. Shes been throwing up every twenty minutes or so since 2am. Hoping the other two dont catch it 😫
Just waiting to see when the shits start kicking in if it is norovirus Confused
Hope all is well in your house soon.

frankie001 · 21/12/2018 04:22

curly fingers crossed yours doesn’t last as long as mine xx

Curlywurly1975 · 21/12/2018 04:38

Thanks all. Consuela, that sounds grim! Poor little thing. DD has only puked twice in 2 hrs so far.

Yes some people have told me it only lasted 24 hrs for their kids. I just know I’m going to be twitchy up til Christmas waiting to see if DS gets it too. Would rather he just got it now so it’s out of the way (well, would obvs rather he didn’t get it at all).

And can’t help feeling annoyed at the parents who sent their kids straight back to school when they were better rather than following the 48hr rule...

Conseulabananahammock · 21/12/2018 05:36

Yep. I know them parents. Absolute ballbags.
Hoping for you and me it only lasts 24 hours and good hand hygeine can stop it dropping the others like flies.
Doubt it but ive got so much to do i havent the time to get sick myself.
Poor kids. Currently googling things that will possibly help settle her tummy. Shes been going ages now.

Curlywurly1975 · 21/12/2018 08:14

Hope it’s all over and done with ASAP in your house, Consuela.

Yep, I’m scrubbing my hands constantly!!

Hodgehegg · 21/12/2018 08:27

Oh OP I'm on week 3 of this!! We've got the bizzare version going round the kids where they're violently sick for 6 hours then they're fine for 5 days before the stomach cramps and dihorhea kick in! My hands are cracked from constantly scrubbing. Happy Christmas to you all!

Wintersnow39 · 21/12/2018 08:34

My daughter is currently off school with it, she was only sick the once once but had a temperature all day yesterday and was really unwell, she is much better today. I have kept her off school as I wouldn’t want her passing it to the other kids at school.

Earlywalker · 21/12/2018 08:35

Poor you- We’ve all got it too! My youngest has been vomiting and refusing to eat since Sunday night, when will it bloody end Sad

Thisonewilldo · 21/12/2018 08:41

Aww no - here's hoping no one else catches it.

I was at a party with DS the other day and a mum arrives with her DS and says to him "if you need to be sick again just let me know!" As he runs in to join the other kids. She then cheerfully announces how he had been sick all morning but wasn't warm anymore so must be ok.

I'm just waiting on DS starting with it now.

pinkiepie1 · 21/12/2018 08:41

We have just got over it.
Both dds being sick next to each other, had to throw out 3 pillows, sheets and duvet.
But I just had to plod on.
I don't get time to be ill.

GinaLinetti99 · 21/12/2018 08:41

Solidarity. DD2 puked spectacularly overnight on Weds night but has had nothing else. We're still in the 48hr period, so have cancelled all plans and I'm praying DD1 doesn't come down with it.

SolemnlySwear2010 · 21/12/2018 08:43

My DD had it last week - started late night Thursday and all of Friday but by Saturday she was completely back to normal. Luckily DH and I seemed to escape it!

SumitosIsMyWall · 21/12/2018 08:48

Both of mine have cone down with it overnight. A little bit of me is relieved they're going at the same time because less chance of cross infection but it's a nightmare.

We think DD1 brought the germs home this year. Apparently one of the girls in her class (year 7) just couldn't miss the last week of term and went into school despite having been sick all of the previous night. I hate some fucking people!

Hope everyone feels better soon for those in the same boat and fingers crossed it doesn't ruin Christmas for anyone.

toomanysmallpeoplecallmemom · 21/12/2018 11:15

I've just asked (told) my friend not to come over today as I found out from her dh that their daughter had been up all night vomiting- her response was 'oh ok I'm sorry you don't want to see us' err no don't really want us all with it next week. Some people's attitudes to d and v bugs baffle me

Curlywurly1975 · 21/12/2018 11:24

Oh bloody hell, poor bunch we all are! Um, Thisonewilldo, think you’re within your rights to lump that mum!!!
And hodgehegg - that sounds bloody awful! Selfishly hoping you’re in a different area to me (SE) and that yours is a different strain!!
Sending healthy vibes to you all!

Your poor DD Sad
My two had it last week, I managed to avoid it by constant hand washing with soap.

LiquoricePickle · 21/12/2018 19:57

Poor you and poor DD.

I tutor children and one mum sent hers yesterday with a fever, cough and sickness and then buggered off.

She apparently saw fit to cancel her DD other weekend classes, but not mine. I have a toddler here and I'm five months pregnant. Twats.

Curlywurly1975 · 22/12/2018 10:40

That is the height of twatishness, Liquorice. What selfish bastards!

xwhoiamx · 22/12/2018 10:54

I've got it too. No signs in DS yet (4 mo) but DH looking iffy. We are elsewhere for Xmas Dinner too so if any one of us is ill we'll be stuck at home with no turkey and shops will have sold out. Bah.

hannahbanana2007 · 22/12/2018 13:20

Ugh I feel all of your pain- my youngest has had D&V since Tues and still going, just desperately trying to avoid the rest of us catching it Shock is a really nasty little bug

abcriskringle · 22/12/2018 13:26

Same. I've been vomiting since 7pm last night. Hoping and praying DS (18months) doesn't get it.
