To think Harry and Meghan’s photo is odd looking?!

Just having a look at the royal family Christmas card pics. Very nice. Love William and Kate’s family pic. How sweet are those kids 😍

Lots of people on Twitter raving about Meghan and Harry’s photo. I genuinely really like Harry and Meghan. Nothing against them whatsoever.

But I absolutely refuse to believe that i am alone in thinking their photo is so awkward looking!

She looks stunning and the background is amazing but it just looks weird! I think it’s the way he’s standing. It’s not elegant. It looks really odd to me.

Anyone else??

I didn’t specifically allude to any comments on this thread because they have been fairly innocuous. However there are other threads over the past few months and various newspaper articles which have been truly shameful. Cf. various comments about how she didn’t looks like an “English rose”, “looks too modern”, and so on and so on.

I’d be utterly delighted if this thread were to be confined to random inconsequential nattering but unfortunately many threads about the Sussexes end in multiple deletions by MNHQ and thinly veiled racial digs.

I don't like it either, it's just a really strange photo (and they had lots of beautiful wedding photos, so why this??)

The Kate and William family pic is lovely, but you'd think they could've photoshopped a bit of snow in the background! Baby Louis reminds me of the nutty judge with a lisp from Dancing on Ice!

The Charles and Camilla one is a lovely photo of the two of them, but it's much too summery for a Xmas card.

Do you think she was musing over some photos for the card and saw this one and thought ''yeah i like the lighting in this and i look good and slim and lovely'' and she waved it at Harry who was on the PS4 reading the paper and he grunted and said ''yeah nice'' without looking up and that was that?

It could be a good photo, but the leg thing just looks odd.

A black and white image with their backs to us as a Christmas card? No, it doesn't work.

The Cambridge's family shot is much better.

Well your first post actually didnt make clear that it was a prediction (sounded like an accusation) and had me scrolling up and down looking for racism that had gone over my head.

People muttering obscurely about dog whistle racism when it doesn't seem to be happening have confused me several times. If I hadn't asked what you meant i’d still be confused and wondering whether I've missed something or its you crying wolf. It’s an own goal.

Well i can’t really. I haven't seen them. I only see this kind of stuff when it crops up on MN. What would you like me to say?

It’s just not a very good photograph. Lovely idea, but surely there was a better one in the same series?

I think her point is you're going on about racism that hasn't happened in this thread. So why make a thread that isn't so far racist focus on racism?? People just don't like the photo!

My point is that pointing out actual racism when it happens, (or screenshotting it and posting it) is a better way of challenging it.

Banging on about it when it isn't happening just encourages the EDL types to disbelieve in it.

Plus it’s derailing a perfectly good natured thread, which is the type we WANT, isn't it?

Well, there have been two deleted comments so far and I don't know what was behind them (it could have been anything/non racist, or it may have been racist). But personally I think the racism directed at Meghan this morning from various gutter press hogs over the card is so overt that it warrants discussion even if it does ruin the jollies on a thread. I'd rather be part of a community where serious issues were taken seriously than just discussing the bend in 'Arry's leg Wink

I'm not a particular fan of the royals family; can take 'em or leave them. But I don't know how anyone can not feel compassion for a newly pregnant, newly married woman who is subject to the slagging that she gets on a daily, with no recourse to answer back. I'd be gobsmacked if it doesn't break what may have otherwise been a fairly happy marriage. God, if I was pregnant and emotional, and in a foreign country, and I had to read that shite every day I'd go fucking nuts.
