To only wear big pants from now on!

Today I threw out all my non big pants (bar 3 pairs of sexy Brazilian cut ones that I couldn't bare to part with)

I actually feel like a pensioner at 28!!! In my defence though I've had two c sections and the last was only 12 weeks ago so my scar is still a bit tender! I've decided that any outfit that requires a thong I'll just have to go commando Grin

I think I'll maybe need to get some reasonable sized pants in the summer/for going abroad etc but I will cross that bridge when I come to it!

Belly warmers for life.

Haha I am same age as you and In the same boat ! Used to always wear skimpy knickers until I was pregnant and I’ve never gone back ...liberating I say Grin

ChristmasRaven · 14/12/2018 10:49

I always wear big knickers! I think once you do, then it's hard to go back to skimpy ones as they feel really uncomfortable. I'm all about comfort nowadays.

LettuceP · 14/12/2018 10:51

I'm a year younger and I've worn big pants since having my first dc. They are just so comfy and they tuck you in nicely so you have a smooth silhouette under clothes. I do have a couple of thongs but only because they are part of a set with a matching bra, I rarely wear them. I know DH doesn't like my big pants but frankly I don't care, it's not him that would have to be uncomfortable in tiny knickers.

BarbaraofSevillle · 14/12/2018 11:00

I've just switched to big pants (M&S no VPL microfibre low rise shorts in plain black) after about 30 years of thong wearing because they suddenly got really uncomfortable, even though they were fine for ages nothing at all to do with gaining a stone since I bought them oh no.

These are my new pants now. No going back.

BeanTownNancy · 14/12/2018 11:05

Multipacks of plain black cotton pants from Sainsbury's. So comfy.

I have big boobs so pretty bras are mostly out of the question, it's more like industrial strength scaffolding. So I just get everything in plain black now.

Myusername101z · 14/12/2018 11:17

@beantownnancy I second the Sainsbury’s pants !

silkpyjamasallday · 14/12/2018 11:22

I bought massive high waisted pants for after having DD, mainly to hold pads in securely. Stopped needing to wear them 3 weeks pp, I'm still wearing them exclusively and DD is two years old. I'm 24. I used to love lingerie and now I just cannot be arsed with it, comfort all the way. DP always claimed he didn't care about pretty underwear, I think he regrets saying that now that it's a very distant memory Grin

Jolonglegs · 14/12/2018 14:36

I used to love wearing lingerie, esp thongs, when (much) younger but following two pregnancies its comfort all the way apart from special occasions. DD says my bras and knicks are so frumpy, but I don't care. I find Sainsburys Tu knicks good value and comfy, the last lot were these - tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/p/Multicoloured-Full-Knickers-5-Pack/133761778-Brown?searchTerm=:newArrivals&searchProduct=

Raven88 · 14/12/2018 14:51

I always wear big pants and I'm 30. I just want to be comfy. Tesco 5 pack of black pants are my fav. I used to call them granny pants when I was a teenager.

sayanythingelse · 14/12/2018 14:54

Ha like many others, I bought some HUGE knickers before DD was born. She's 1 next week and the big knickers are here to stay. Thongs are only worn on laundry day now when everything else is in the wash Grin

missmouse101 · 14/12/2018 14:56

I love love love my big pants. All black Sloggi maxi control and they are blissfully comfy.

Spanglybangles · 14/12/2018 14:56

Sainsbury’s black midi girl of 43 here....so comfy and only £6 for a pack of 5. Have a few pairs of fancier knickers, but not worn a thong since before having kids (31).

HardcoreLadyType · 14/12/2018 15:03

I now nearly always wear cotton boxer style trunks. They are like men's pants, but there is no fly front, or pouch.

They are so comfy. I used to get thrush fairly frequently, and now rarely do.

The only time I might wear other knickers is if I am wearing leggings or something else a bit tighter, so that they might look a bit lumpy.

I know they are granny pants, really, but they have a designer name on the waist band, so I kid myself they are trendy.

I have realised that men do not wear uncomfortable pants. why should I be expected to do so?

Bunnymumma · 14/12/2018 15:07

I love big pants. With the right bra, i still feel a bit cute, like a 50s pin up!

ThanksItHasPockets · 14/12/2018 15:11

Thongs are really ugly IMHO, even on the peachiest of bums. In the right shape, big knickers have an excellent 50s pin-up vibe. Floaty French knickers are brilliant under skirts in the summer when you don’t need tights.

VickyEadie · 14/12/2018 15:13

I'm 60, but have worn big pants since I was about the OP's age. I never wore tiny knickers.

Can I ask those of you who wear/have worn thongs: don't you go around with a permanent string wedgie?

cricketmum84 · 14/12/2018 15:15

I'm 34. I sent my husband out for a pack of knickers when we went on holiday and I had forgotten to pack any for me!!! He came back with BIG pants. Omfg they are so comfortable. I've never looked back 😂

Binkybix · 14/12/2018 15:38

I got a pack of very big pants the other week, for the first time. Now I feel very sad when they’re all in the wash. And a bit angry.

DwangelaForever · 14/12/2018 16:13

I honestly don't know why I didn't stay with the big pants after my first c section! I feel like I've wasted so much comfort over the past 2 years!!

DeltaDelta · 14/12/2018 16:16

#BigPantsRule I haven't got a c-section and love big pants. Nice and comfy

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 14/12/2018 16:24

So glad it’s not just me! I’ve always had some big pants (“period pants”) but my collection grew exponentially when pregnant with DS... and I never went back Grin

Onestep2 · 14/12/2018 16:25

*You mean comfy pants. I love comfy pants. I don't even have excuse of having kids 😂

TokyoSushi · 14/12/2018 16:47

I bought my first pack of 'full briefs' when I went into hospital for my c-section with DD, I promised myself I'd go back to 'normal' pants ASAP afterwards. I am still planning to go back to normal pants one day, she's nearly 6 Grin

Bunnymumma · 15/12/2018 14:14

I bought some more massive numbers today and can't wait to get them on!

Ollivander84 · 15/12/2018 14:15

I have some from matalan that are the most comfy ever. I recommended them on here and everyone who got them said the same!
