to find Matt Baker really annoying?

rarely do I post anything like this but I just find him a PITA.

He milks his northern accent for all its worth (I was brought up near his home) and it's def a bit 'put on' for someone who's educated and lived down south for years.

He says he was brought up on a sheep farm- what a joke. His parents had a corner shop while he was a lad and now his mum has a garden ( a very small plot) with a handful of sheep.

I just find him a bit of a fraud.

He is annoying in the way all BBC presenters are. Bland bland bland.

I don't know much about his past or his accent I think he's wonderful. The way he is with those kids doing the rickshaw challenge has me in tears every year.

Aren't most television presenter just unbearably awful?
I can't stand Tess Daly, Kate Thornton or Ant and Dec - they all make my skin crawl.

I just don't know why he gets so much work- the one show every night almost (I never watch) and Countryfile plus other stuff in between. I find him too 'grinny' and perhaps insincere with his 'I'm such a nice guy' and he is economical with the truth over his upbringing ( ie on a 'farm'.)

i like him, he is comes across as a nice bloke, he is a lot better than the ant type presenters.

I know Matt well, the accent is certainly not put on, it’s just his normal speaking voice. You could not find a more genuine and down to earth person. He’s absolutely lovely, him and his wife are.

And his parents had a small sheep farm - I’m not sure why you’re fixated on that not being true when it is. Does it really matter if it was a big or small farm.

YANBU. He's unbearable. Mind you, he's not the only one. Alex Jones and Christine Bleakley are right up there with him in the smug and irritating stakes. And that farmer off Countryfile. Can't recall his name but he makes me change channel too.

He's rather sweet, always comes over well. And as said before, he is very nice to the irritating Alex.

Disagree wholeheartedly- I've met him a couple of times and he's pleasant, chatty and passionate about wildlife and farming. At the end of the day his job is as a television presenter and I think he's good at it.

Surely there are more awful people to find annoying. He is 'Northern' his accent is not 'put on' I am Northern too. So no doubt you'd find me annoying. Although the North covers many hundreds of square miles so Liverpool is not the same as Manchester or Hull or Sheffield or York or Sunderland or Durham or Newcastle or Carlisle or Alnwick or Blackpool or Bolton or Skipton or any of the wonderful towns and Cities in the North of England which happen to have amazing countryside, wonderful coastline and actually very genuinely friendly people.
