That the little kid dressed as plug makes me cry

I may be tired and over emotional but there’s just something about the way he runs and plugs himself in that makes me both laugh and cry at the same time. Anyone with me?

It doesnt make me cry but i find him very cute and amusingGrin

Greensleeves · 29/11/2018 22:35

Me too! It's so adorable. The whole advert is a rip off of Nativity, but you can't go wrong with kids in daft costumes.

Reythelastjedi · 29/11/2018 22:35

Agree it's very cute.

RNBrie · 29/11/2018 22:37

I dislike the ad, it's too much like the John Lewis rebrand one over the summer. But the kid dressed as a plug gets me too!!

crazytiredboth · 29/11/2018 22:38

YANBU. Not sure if this link will work but it’s the plug himself being interviewed and it’s pure joy.

The plug is funny (and also a little bit alarming) but the advert itself is nauseating. The strapline 'we give all we've got for the ones we love' is a revolting attempt to guilt people into spending money they can't afford 'because it's for the children', in my view. Sorry!

bumblenbean · 29/11/2018 23:25

Funnily enough I saw that ad for the first time tonight and the plug bit made me smile for some reason I couldn’t put my finger on too!

PietariKontio · 30/11/2018 05:28

Letthenamesbegin definitely watch Nativity its brilliant. But don't watch the sequels, they're awful beyond belief in spite of the excellent casts

Bluerussian · 30/11/2018 05:59

I've not seen him, I've obviously missed out and am distraught.

ResistanceIsNecessary · 30/11/2018 06:12

Yep! It's my absolute favourite part of that advert.

sophisticatedsarcasm · 30/11/2018 06:26

My ds said he wants that as a costume, every time the advert comes on it has him in fits 😊😊

ScarlettDarling · 30/11/2018 06:32

I love that advert, so much better than the Elton John tribute from JL.

SelpMeGod · 30/11/2018 06:32

@Bluerussian YouTube have the ad and the behind the scenes. Plug is my absolute favourite, and the bauble when she falls over.

I love the plug. Thanks for the link to the interview!

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 30/11/2018 08:36

'Plug's mum'

Gatehouse77 · 30/11/2018 08:39

Best part of the whole advert1

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 30/11/2018 08:51

Awww there should be shout out for the Queen on Telly - the wave was epic! 😂😂😂

@Letthenamesbegin - Nativity has me in absolute floods of sobby gulp laughing tears. Especially the Angel Gabriel and his mum. 😉

itsaboojum · 30/11/2018 09:25

Just to the right of the scenic curtains is what’s meant to be a scenic light fitting, but it looks just like someone has written "tit" on the wall.

Loyaultemelie · 30/11/2018 09:29

I love this ad especially plug!! I think it beats all the other Christmas adverts hands down

AmIthatbloodycold · 30/11/2018 09:31

I don't like the advert, but we all love the plug and the way they almost fly into the socket.

AllTakenSoRubbishUsername · 30/11/2018 09:57

That is adorable!

Soubriquet · 30/11/2018 10:00

It cracks me up when he runs and plugs himself in Grin

ginghamstarfish · 30/11/2018 10:34

Showing my age here but the thread title made me think of Plug from The Bash Street Kids (Beano) and I was amazed to think that was still running ...
