Im just so pissed off... i spend a lot of time at my sisters house, Her kids are out of control and she doesent give a fuck... seriously. She has 2 boys who are 13 and 15, and a girl who is 17. Yesterday i was at her house with my kids who are 12 and 16. it was like 9pm and they were out in the driveway for some reason. Now my neice(17) has has had like 1 driving lesson and thats it, she has no license or doesen`t know how to drive. a few minutes late i looked out the window and my neice was speeding down the street back and forth in her mums car!!! my 12 year old was in the car with all of my sisters kids. I went outside and made her pull over, i was fuming shouting at her, while my sister stood there laughing! like what the fuck!?!? i took them straight home. would i be unreasonable to stop going over because i fear my childrens safety?#

Your niece should be on Jeremy Kyle.

Blanchedupetitpois · 25/11/2018 10:20

Bloody hell - YANBU

noenergy · 25/11/2018 10:23

Very irresponsible and your sister is very unreasonable for laughing about it

MumW · 25/11/2018 10:24

I'd certainly be pulling back and spending less time there. I wouldn't want their behaviour and lack of disipline to influence my DC and I'd be having a discussion with my DC to explain why their behavioir is inappropriate.

I'd also be making sure she was under no illusions that she should not get in the car with her cousins ever until she has a licence and you are happy she is competent.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 25/11/2018 10:27

YANBU. Your sisters parenting or rather lack of is part of the reason why society is running an absolute mock. Will she be laughing when she kills someone and shes watching her being sentenced.

Carpetglasssofa · 25/11/2018 10:29

You could report that to the police...

PurpleFlower1983 · 25/11/2018 10:31

YANBU! I would never be going back there!

stainedglasswindow · 25/11/2018 10:32

Why do you spend so much time there?

Singlenotsingle · 25/11/2018 10:32

Her kids are way out of control. I wouldn't take mine there. They're learning how not to behave.

SenoritaViva · 25/11/2018 10:33

I agree, call 101 and ask them to speak to her. I’d be fuming at my sister too.

Oobis · 25/11/2018 10:36

I wouldn't be spending time there with my kids.

GertrudeCB · 25/11/2018 10:36

Report. My cousin was knocked over when he was little in similar circumstances. In hospital for weeks. He was on the pavement with our grandad. Parents of teenager involved gave no shits and were full of excuses. Angry

TwigTheWonderKid · 25/11/2018 10:39

I wouldn't think twice about reporting that to the police.

MissionItsPossible · 25/11/2018 10:42

I wouldn’t let your children spend any time there. Your sister sounds like a prize twat.

Miscible · 25/11/2018 10:46

Awwlook, sorry, but I couldn't help laughing at your phrasing amok as a mock. Particularly in the context of complaining about a decline in standards.

Miscible · 25/11/2018 10:46

OP, in your shoes I'd be principally fuming at your sister.

AlwaysSomethingThere · 25/11/2018 10:47

Your sister is a lazy, irresponsible twat 👍🏻

BewareOfDragons · 25/11/2018 10:50

Report her to the police. That will stop the laughing at such inexcusable behaviour.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 25/11/2018 10:57

@ Miscible. Grammar has never been one of my strongest talents.Grin
Fuck knows how I got a bloody A in Literacy.

lljkk · 25/11/2018 10:59

Is the single driving lesson the only time the niece has been behind the wheel, has she done any practice driving with parents in the car?

My dad's 4 youngest siblings were all driving at 12 yrs old (yes, illegally, in the town, to fetch home their drunk dad from bars, 1960s-70s). I'm not saying this was good, but I couldn't be as freaked out as OP.

HashTagLil · 25/11/2018 10:59

Fuming at your niece? Your sister is the problem, not your niece.

AllYouHaveToDoIsStay · 25/11/2018 11:02

My sister is a shit parent, she lets her kids do whatever the fuck they want. i agree @AlwaysSomethingThere

Thats crazy.

needsahouseboy · 25/11/2018 11:19

I'd report it to the police. She's probably driving around all the time.

OliviaStabler · 25/11/2018 11:20

Fuming at your niece? Your sister is the problem, not your niece.
