According to reports in my local media people are fighting in my local Aldi, actual scuffles for a soft toy carrot.

Wtf

That doesn't surprise me. Is it like Cabbage Patch Dolls all over again?

Those cuddly carrots will be under the child's bed in a box of tut in 6 month's time.

Blanchedupetitpois · 22/11/2018 18:16

It’s not even cute!

RedDeadRoach · 22/11/2018 18:17

Last year they were resold for a fortune on eBay.

Breakyourselfagainstmystones · 22/11/2018 18:19

They are already being sold for £100 a pop.

Absolute craziness.

Like the teletubbies all over again I go Po that year, I was delighted

KingPrawnBalls · 22/11/2018 18:19

Wtf! Yanbu.

Sirzy · 22/11/2018 18:20

Typical “can’t possibly say no to child” itis

A few parents who I am fb friends with joined the madness. It didn’t surprise me with any of them!

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2018 18:21

Bargain at £3

Bombardier25966 · 22/11/2018 18:22

Both my local stores still have stock. The media hype is what gets them selling.

Carragheen · 22/11/2018 18:23

I saw the sharp-elbowed middle classes rioting politely in Waitrose last year over the obligatory Heston Blumenthal seasonal invention, which was, as far as I can remember, a giant Brussels sprout made of out green chocolate that you melted with a hot sauce to reveal something. It was absolutely disgusting but DH feels it is not Christmas without a Heston mince pie that tastes of pine floor-cleaner or the like.

Fatasfook · 22/11/2018 18:24

Urgh this type of greedy consumerism makes me sick

PerfectlyGoodAtBeingBad · 22/11/2018 18:25

I hate this time of year as idiots like this seem to come out of the woodwork.

Oobis · 22/11/2018 18:27

Something else to add to the vast confused list of things I don't "get"

Sparklingbrook · 22/11/2018 18:28

Buy one, drive to the tip and put it in landfill. Cut out the middle man.

bookworm14 · 22/11/2018 18:28

There are times when I feel totally out of step with the rest of the human race (or a large chunk of it). Why would ANYONE want this thing? It’s that bloody meerkat all over again.

jarhead123 · 22/11/2018 18:29

We bought the 3.99 pack for our dog, he loved chewing them last year! Found the remains of one of them under the sofa last month lol.

Why on earth anyone wants a giant £20 carrot though I have no idea!

SylvesterTheCat · 22/11/2018 18:34

Wtf is this about? Why? Who is this carrot?

Is it the 2018 must-have toy or something?

I genuinely don't understand.

LagerthaTheShieldMaiden · 22/11/2018 18:36

I feel like I missed all the excitement. I popped into Aldi on my way to work and bought one. About three other people in there at the time! I wonder if nobody knew my local had them in 🤔

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/11/2018 18:37

Currently £50 - £60 on ebay Hmm

nicebitofquiche · 22/11/2018 18:47

I intend to put large bids on eBay for them and not pay

TroysMammy · 22/11/2018 18:49

Ha! I'm going to give my niece a carrot and stick googly eyes on it and stick green pipecleaners in it's "head".

There's HUNDREDS in the one near me (well there was at 4pm today)

LagerthaTheShieldMaiden · 22/11/2018 19:02

He's not that great tbh. I only got him as a joke for my sister. Keeping him away from the dog is becoming fun Grin
