According to reports in my local media people are fighting in my local Aldi, actual scuffles for a soft toy carrot.

Wtf

It's just a carrot shaped giant cushion then?

ScrambledSmegs · 22/11/2018 23:01

We used to have something similar from IKEA. A big cuddly carrot. Was very strange but the kids liked it. We had a cuddly broccoli too.

IKEA's stressful at the best of times but there were no punches thrown during the buying process.

whatsthestory123 · 22/11/2018 23:23

was the same the christmas of mog

my ds who is nearly 12 still has him on the bed

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 23/11/2018 00:32

I have the Ikea broccoli!

MissLadyM · 23/11/2018 01:17

I would like to point out that the products support the Teenage Cancer Trust!

19lottie82 · 23/11/2018 01:25

Just because they are listed for sale on eBay for £1000, doesn’t mean anyone will pay that! Set the filter to “completed listings” to see what they have actually been selling for.

longwayoff · 23/11/2018 06:14

Am miffed. Spent half hour in Aldi yesterday and noticed the wretched things, thought, Aldi have gone nuts, who on earth would want one of those? Ha! Have now missed out on earning a fortune flogging them on ebay.

longwayoff · 23/11/2018 06:16

I live a very sheltered life. Cuddly, plush veg? A revelation!

Fruitbatdancer · 23/11/2018 06:21

I saw a woman walking the ring road with one earlier, I assumed it was some sort of protest as she was kind of holding it aloft and flapping its arms. She was middle 50’s ish - I actually thought ‘vegan gone mad’ with giant carrot.
Now I hear it’s a thing? And she’s about to be a carrot millionaire on eBay?! Wtf?!

Monty27 · 23/11/2018 06:26

Blimey! I have at least a kg of real ones in my fridge! A kilo of Kevins Grin

shearwater · 23/11/2018 06:41

If he's an Aldi carrot he'll be a limp fucker by the day after tomorrow

Aldi and Lidl fresh produce is far more reliable than Sainsbury's, and is far cheaper.

Oysterbabe · 23/11/2018 06:58

They had loads in my Aldi yesterday. I saw a few people buying them in a calm and civilised manner.

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 23/11/2018 07:06

"Even a fight on Bootle"

Well that's put Bootle on the map. Grin

There's no such thing in Aldi Germany. I was in a shop yesterday.

Perhaps they need to take it international now..Helmut the Cabbage, Andre the asparagus, Alejandro the Artichoke etc

@BobTheDuvet - the big one didn't even get a 99p bid? 😂😂😂

Did I read that correctly?

I read it on here yesterday about people planning on how to get their hands on these toys and everything. Went to Aldi at 7.30pm last night for other things and there was an absolute load of all kinds, the parsnips, the families, the single carrots! Clearly this madness is regional Smile

19lottie82 · 23/11/2018 14:42

The ones with zero 99p bids, it’s likely the seller pulled the auction early. That’s why they didn’t sell.

My main income is from eBay and I bought 20 and sold them for £9.99 plus postage. So I made just under £5 on each one after eBay and PayPal fees.

OutPinked · 23/11/2018 15:37

Ha! DP and I had a real giggle about this last night. I have actually considered buying a few purely to sell on eBay. People are lunatics and will pay through the nose for a stuffed toy carrot.

SylvesterTheCat · 24/11/2018 07:57

These are sold items (apparently)!

To think the world has gone mad
19lottie82 · 24/11/2018 16:05

Prob people just “protesting” by bidding on the items with no intention of buying them! Anyone remember the loom band dress?

19lottie82 · 24/11/2018 16:06

In fact maybe the giant carrots sold for that much?! They are the real in demand ones. I think each store only got 20 or so.
