An opinion piece from North Korea about Human Rights - a fascinating perspective indeed, and there is some shades of truth to be found in it, as these things are never clear-cut. (From Rodong Sinmun).
Serious Human Rights Situation in Western Countries
Western countries cooked up and spread a human rights document of falsehoods and fabrications in a bid to internationalize and politicize the non-existent “human rights question” in the DPRK.
A serious human rights question exists in the western countries.
The U.S., which styles itself the “model” of capitalism, is swarming with unemployed and homeless people. Murder, robbery and other high-profile crimes are rampant there.
Colored and minority races there have their rights wantonly violated in education, legal protection, election, etc.
There is not much difference in Japan, which likes to brag itself as a “law-governed state” and “advanced state”, and in European countries which slander other countries, behaving as if they were the “model” in respecting human rights.
Child maltreatment is rife and sexual abuses against children are on the steady increase in Japan.
Women, children, persons of advanced age and those with disabilities who should be under the care of social protection are just forsaken by the society. This is the pitiful human rights situation in Japan.
The same is the human rights situation in European countries.
The U.S., Japan and Western countries had better cure their human rights illness, instead of criticizing others groundlessly.
