Sweaty... fanny! Driving me mad!!

I'm so sorry for the TMI thread on AIBU but over maybe the last 12 month's my groin has got warmer and warmer and now frequently smells of B.O?! It is starting to really annoy me - I am clean and always wear cotton knickers but it's like my crotch area is constantly on fire, meaning my knickers get soaked with sweat and smell!! How disgusting! Proper putting me off having sex with my lovely DH and giving me a terrible complex.

Anyone else? I'm 40 and wondering if it's hormone related?? Anything I can do? Feel weird rolling up at the GPs saying oh hi my fadge is well sweaty.

For clarity - it's not BV or thrush it is definitely sweat. Urgh.

Use a feminine wash and lots of clean water, no scrubbing. It will probably be ok in a few days.

Are you sure it’s not a fungal/yeast infection? You can get them on skin anywhere, usually hot sweaty places....

Have you ruled out anything medical....? Or is that self diagnosis

I know someone who had what he thought was a sweaty arsecrack but it turned out to be thrush and it was itchy and damp all the time.

Nooooooo definitely not fungal or thrush. I've had thrush loads before and it's not itchy at all. Just boiling hot!! And has been the same (although loads worse when my period is due) for maybe 12 months.

Go to the sexual health clinic rather than gp and explain your symptoms. They can do a bacterial swab and rule out infection. I know you’ve said it’s not BV but it does quite sound like it to me. Usually get watery discharge and a distinctive smell with it. Hope you get it sorted soon

FGS, Do NOT use any of those horrid "feminine" cleansing products. They are all utter bullshit. You need to go to your gp as soon as possible. This is nothing to be ashamed of.

Me too, same age. Night sweats especially bad - even my shins drip with sweat. Worse before period - much worse.

I use a non perfumed antiperspirant/deodorant now, which really helps. One of those long lasting ones. And washing, obvs. Keeping minge hair short so it doesn't collect the sweat.

It's a bloody nuisance

Definitely not BV I promise, I've had it before and the smell is much different.

Hahah that's for minge hair tip Sotw. I try to keep it short, even more so since attack of the sweats.

The night sweats are horrendous!!! I have to sleep snuggling a towel. Awful.

If your having night sweats then it's all part of the Peri-Menopause.

Your smell does change.

You could have a chat with your GP because it sounds as though it's having a big effect on your life.

They can do hormone checks.

It wouldn’t hurt to rule out diabetes.

Shaving your pubic hair reduces stale/sweaty minge smells a bit.

I get this. Also really bad boobo :(

My pits however are fine.......ive taken to using decent anti perspirent on my sweaty bits. I'm definitely heading for the menopause so blame that.

I'm the same. Sorted by treating groin same as armpits - swipe a roll on Sure along fold where your legs meet your undercarriage. Use Femfresh wash first and rinse well (its more gentle and less perfumed than soap or shower gel).

I would say peri menopause if not full on menopause.

Have been a sweaty mess down there since having kids....probably staring down the barrel of prei-meno too.....basically all of me much sweatier since kids, not uncommon to have to get up and removed drenched (light cotton) pjs at night..sweaty underwear now the norm.

thin panty liners to catch some of it, looser pants, goodbye pantihose...

ps - your DH won't mind, don't worry about that aspect...
