Ideas welcomed on how the guys on here spent their 40th’s for inspiration for my husbands next year 🎂 (or even just how your male partners spent theirs!)

I have plans to book a few days away for my DH to take his car round the Nurburgring.

FourEyesGood · 03/11/2018 16:24

I had a party for mine. I’m a woman, but the party didn’t involve my vagina, so I guess it probably could work for a man too.

homeishere · 03/11/2018 16:29

😂

badirene · 03/11/2018 16:29

I brought him for a few days break with whale watching, if left to his own devices he would have made no decision on what he wanted and then whined when nothing was organised.

TSSDNCOP · 03/11/2018 16:35

He asked for and got a catered dinner party for 20 in our home.

KnobJockey · 03/11/2018 16:51

The weekend of his birthday was a local Street festival, so I arranged lots of friends to come down and we got pissed in the sunshine. I had booked for us to go away to Boston and New York as his present as a surprise, that was 3 weeks later.

BatShitBitchChops · 03/11/2018 16:54

Mine went fishing with his super expensive new rod I brought him and while he was out I baked him an awesome cake. That was it!

easyandy101 · 03/11/2018 16:57

went climbing with people who didn't know it was my birthday, like every year

My family insisted on a meal as it was my 40th so we went for a Sri Lankan curry

CMOTDibbler · 03/11/2018 17:02

We had a takeaway. It was our 15th wedding anniversary and my 40th the same year so we did get to have two nights away without ds on our anniversary which falls in the middle of our birthdays. We didn't do more than food for my 40th either

NicoAndTheNiners · 03/11/2018 17:02

I rented a cottage for the weekend for dh’s Birthday as a surprise. Had about 20 friends come (big cottage) and we spent the weekend hill walking. Cooked a massive meal for everyone on the Saturday night.

ForalltheSaints · 03/11/2018 17:12

I went to Madrid, as the Prado was one place I had wanted to visit for a long time.

rainbowquack · 03/11/2018 19:15

Mine just wanted a bbq, so that's what we did. He was very happy when a few friends who live a long way away turned up as a surprise.

Buster72 · 03/11/2018 19:19

In a police custody suite.

user1493242132 · 03/11/2018 19:26

My husband and I went swimming with the humpback whales in Tonga

doodlejump1980 · 03/11/2018 19:34

I took my dh to Barcelona for his 40th. Pre-kids. My 40th in 2 years, DTs will be 5.... hmmmmm

MyNameIsArthur · 03/11/2018 19:42

My wife and I went to the oktoberfest beer festival in Munich. Was amazing. Had a beer hall full of 2000 people all sing happy birthday to me with the oompah band playing

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 03/11/2018 19:53

Mine had a big BBQ on the day, but his actual present was dinner at the Hind's Head and Fat Duck (consecutive nights).

Onlyjoinedforthisthread · 03/11/2018 20:08

Nothing for either of ours, a nice meal but nothing else.

MsVestibule · 03/11/2018 20:08

10 childfree days and nights in Las Vegas with his lovely, lovely wife.

Onlyjoinedforthisthread · 03/11/2018 20:09

And if there was any party, surprise or otherwise I'd walk out

Didiusfalco · 03/11/2018 20:16

My dh’s is next month. Going to London overnight and seeing Bill Bailey. Carvery with family the weekend before.

nbee84 · 03/11/2018 20:18

We did a day at the races (Newmarket) with about 15 friends.

fiorentina · 03/11/2018 20:21

My DH went to a Grand Prix for the weekend with his friends. Was bit frustrating that for mine we had had next to no money so mine was lame.

BonnieF · 03/11/2018 20:28

DP spent a weekend golfing with his mates in Scotland. They played some of the famous courses on which the Open is played.

Then, me & DP went to Le Manoir for a couple of nights. It was lovely.

Minniemountain · 03/11/2018 20:48

DH wants to ski but it's a bit tricky with a July birthday.
We'll probably go walking in Saas-Fee and visit the spa there.
