Ebay refund. Are they being a cf.

Quick question...
I think this buyer is being a cf but I'm happy to be told otherwise!
Someone bought an item from me (cheap item cost £2.00) and it didn't arrive, so I issued a full refund.
He messaged me today stating the item had now arrived but he's had to pay a £1.50 fee as I didn't put enough postage on it (it's the same postage I usually put on and never been an issue before, but he has sent photos to prove it.)
The message is very snotty and he's demanding I refund him the fee.

Aibu to tell him that he's had a full refund for the item and all he's had to pay is the fee which is less than the cost of the original item, so therefore I won't refund him.
Thanks.

Eh? That's bonkers. He owes you 50p!

Allthewaves · 01/11/2018 18:13

I'd be snotty too if you sent royal mail as its a 5 mile treck for me into city centre to collect parcels that need paid and collected.

You should refund him for the inconvenience

Pissedoffdotcom · 01/11/2018 18:15

Tell him to get stuffed. He has gained 50p profit the cheeky fucker

namechange9681 · 01/11/2018 18:15

@Allthewaves did you read it he's been refunded for the item already ?

Pringlemunchers · 01/11/2018 18:15

He had already had a full refund. Therefore got the item for free !! Tell him if he now wants to pay for it, you will then refund his 1.50 !! Honestly some people !!

spongebunnyfatpants · 01/11/2018 18:15

I'm pleased it's not just me ScreamingValenta! I was beginning to think I'd gone mad!

@Allthewaves I am sure you can pay the fee online and have it redelivered. I did that with customs charges last Christmas.

@spongebunnyfatpants they are indeed a CF

spongebunnyfatpants · 01/11/2018 18:21

Thanks for the replies and @Allthewaves I appreciate that. I was a mistake, I have sold the item before and it's always been the same postage, so I'm not sure why it was classed as more this time.

namechange9681 · 01/11/2018 18:23

I'd reply ' Hi I'm very sorry this has happened I have posted similar/the same item multiple times and never had this problem, but I have fully refunded the £2 you paid for the item so if you would like to give the 50p you oh me, that would much be appreciated. Thanks

Cachailleacha · 01/11/2018 18:23

Could he have bought a replacement elsewhere when it didn't arrive, so didn't need it anymore? Then, if he buys a lot of things online, didn't know your parcel was the one he was paying extra for when it arrived? So maybe he has paid £1.50 for something he doesn't need anymore.

WotaLiberty · 01/11/2018 18:24

This is the reason that I would not sell on EBay again. I had a business that used EBay and went from being very profitable to folding within 6 months of the return rules.
He is being a CF. I would tell him that since you have refunded in full, there is nothing to refund. It was his choice to collect the parcel after all. Some may tell you that it is worth the £1.50 to protect your selling profile but IME people that do this leave bad feedback just because they can anyway, plus you have already taken the negative hit through the item not arriving.

spongebunnyfatpants · 01/11/2018 18:35

Thanks @Namechange9681.
Sorry to hear that @WotaLiberty. He'd already closed the case 2 days before I got the last message, so I believe that means he can't leave any negative feedback, but I could be wrong.

Sorry, he can still leave feedback.

brighteyeowl17 · 01/11/2018 18:43

Ask him for the refund back less the difference of postage.

Underpressureidiot · 01/11/2018 18:44

Tell him that he owes you 50p!!

LongSummerDays · 01/11/2018 18:45

Seems like a try-on to me. He would have had a card to say underpaid postage.

The card details how to pay (can do it online) and how to arrange delivery or where to collect.

He gets the card, realises he can potentially have his cake and eat it by claiming non receipt from you, you refund him and then he trundles along to collect his free widget.

ThePinkOcelot · 01/11/2018 18:47

Tell him to do one!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 01/11/2018 18:51

This is why I stopped using eBay. Bloody postal scams, buyers paying for very low value items but unwilling to wait for the post (I'm not Amazon Prime FFS) and the lies and abuse from buyers was unbelievable. Account closed.

C.F. for sure! I'd be asking for the 50 pence to see what he says!

spongebunnyfatpants · 01/11/2018 19:00

Thanks everyone.
I've sent a polite reply apologising for any inconvenience, but pointing out that he's paid 50p less than he would have done.
I've also pointed a couple of errors in his message regarding the price he originally paid (He's claiming hes paid more than he did) and that a full refund (Which he states he wants for the coin and the fee) would not amount to £4.10.
I'll see what he says and if not I'll report and block him.

I wonder if he's forgotten he got the refund. He's clearly unreasonable but that would at least explain his stupidity over this.

He's just sent a grovelling apology stating he sent it to the wrong seller. Not sure how when the photo was of my envelope, bit it sorted.
Thanks for everyone's replies.
