So, following on from my thread: aibu to expect dh to NOT leave his pants on the floor

The challenge has begun!

Any bets? How long will it take for HIM to put them IN THE WASH? Not elsewhere in the house, but actually in the washing basket or, god forbid, in the machine?

How about setting up a webcam? Like the african waterhole ones, observe boxers roaming free in their native habitat.

maybe tomorrow, if you're really lucky, you'll get a pair of sweaty socks!! Fingers crossed!!

Now you see, I had mine trained from Day 1. I wasn't ever going to touch his dirty grots! Eww no!

But then he's more houseproud than I am and will actually take the washing out of the basket, put it in the machine, turn machine on and then hang them out to dry when they've finished!

I don't know how we got there, but I always expected him to do his own, so I guess he knew early on that if he didn't, he would never have clean grots or ironed shirts.

My ex would throw his boxers at the laundry bin (ie not bother to walk over and put them in the bin) so I would throw them back - he'd soon get the hint once his grundies started piling up on the floor on his side of the bed! I also used to wash and hang out his clothes EXACTLY how he'd put them in the laundry bin ie shirts with sleeves one inside out, socks rolled into a ball etc etc.... It worked, believe me!!

I'm obviously a complete slattern as DH usually ends up picking my laundry off the floor.
He also does all the washing - I think dying his shirts and socks bright pink in the first week of marriage was a stoke of genius.
It's just a shame he can't iron!

another update - they are still there... I was kind of hoping I would have 3 pairs by now, so a little disappointed

Eurghhh! Scary thought.

Just found this thread and I must say I'll be watching closely!

ho hum.. they are still there... so this has been (counts on fingers) 5 whole days, and figuring he won't pick them up tonight, 6 by tomorrow morning. That's nearly a week.

I can't believe he hasn't noticed, which means he just can't be bothered to pick them up.. I am tempted by the mustard seed..

Good grief, it is kind of gross

Mustard seed would be hilarious

If it was me I would throw them in the bin - he would pretty soon sort himself out when he runs out ...

Do the mustard or cress seed. Don't say anything, just see if he notices. Make sure you take daily photographs to log the growth too.

Have you figured out how they travelled accross the bathroom yet?

they've gone!
and they are in the washing basket. It only took 6 days!!
I will kind of miss them...

This is a really funny thread.

Unfortunately I am just as bad for doing this as dp. See for me, if I throw clothes in the direction of the laundry basket I understand they are dirty and clothes on the stairs are clean to be put away - but he has a different code. It really annoys me and I don't really think I have the right to moan about it... But it means I have to sniff the socks before I know whether they are clean or not?

DH asked last night if I was going to start a thread about the coffee percolator I am leaving for him to clean, as he bloody insists on using it and I don't even drink the damned stuff!!! It'll be one week tonight! So, shall I start a thread or just hijack this one?

Lio · 23/06/2007 15:23

I'll check on this thread for coffee update
